State Street, Ukiah. HOPLAND WANTS AUTO STAGES. Thatcher, hotelman and A Williams, butcher, both of Hopland, are in Lnkepnrt conferring with the oilicials of the auto stage company. The Hopland people, have been ruisdtvi a bonus for a new stage line to be put over the old county road between Lakeport and Hopland, and the. above named gentlemen are here to deliver an ultimatum to the company before any start is made.

They say that if the auto stage company will run their regular stages from Vnssar's to Hopland instead of the present, route of Vnssar's to Pietn, running only a mail stage to Pieta, beginning in a week, they will not make any move in the opposition, hut failing in that agreement, they will inaguratc the new stage service immediately. The Bartlett Springs company is not known to have any connection with the proposed new line. A Chambers, the local liveryman, has been approached to stable the stock at this end of the line. Press. 4t. IMPROVING POWER PLANT The Snow Mountain Power Company are making more improvements at their plant on Eel river. Last week a new dynamo came up from San Francisco and was taken out to the plant. At present the dynamos can only carry a load of about 5000 horse power but with the new machinery a load of over 10,000 horse power can easily be carried. The company is finding a ready market for all of their power and now supply light for Cloverdale, Asti.

Geyservillc, Hcaldsburg, Sebastopol, Santa Rosa and they also ftfrnish the power for the electric cars between Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Some, of the larger cities in Napa county are making arrangements to get power from this company and it is expected that lines will soon be constructed to these cities.
