Zich-terman, a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, who received a $500 honor scholarship. Michigan State University has announced those students who received a perfect 4.00 grade point average during spring semester 1988. Local students who received a 4.00 include Christine A. Camp, Karl Hyo Seung Kim, Danne M.

Larson and Thomas R. Smith all of Battle Creek, and Charles Hoogstraten of Richland. Ferris State University has announced those students who graduated summer 1988. Local students include Andrew Askler of Battle Creek, who received a degree in pharmacy; Donald Brek Prior of Battle Creek, who received a degree in printing technology; Tonja Lynn Roach of Bronson, who received a degree in radiology, Douglas L. Sygnecki of Bronson who received a degree in printing management; and Teresa S.

Jeffrey of Quincy, who received a degree in radiology. Jennifer J. Galley, formerly of Battle Creek, JoAnna L. Longman, of Augusta and Paul Wesley Alday have been selected as new members of Outstanding High School Students of America. OCSA is a national merit organization that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship in college students.

Aaron Goldstein of Battle Creek is a sophomore at Tilton School, Tilton, N.H., a co-educational, independent boarding school that provides a college preparatory program for high school-age students. Dean Wayne Stults of Battle Creek has received a master of science degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University. Scott W. Oman has completed cent of the sophomore class. Lynn Race, vice president of Michigan National Bank, graduated with distinction from National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University.

The school is an intensive two-year program conducted by the American Bankers Association that features a broad-based trust curriculum. Race, now a certified financial services counselor, has been with MNB since 1973. The following area students graduated from Central Michigan University in August David M. Chamberlain of Hastings, Anthony D. Headley and Gregory M.

Scy-giel both of Coldwater, Alicia A. Veysey of Quincy, Kathleen Ann Dininny of Albion, Douglas L. Geno and Julie Ann Haffenden, both of Battle Creek, and Karen R. Durham of Marshall. Compiled by Staff Writer Mark Glubke his internship at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, located near Brunswick, Ga.

This internship program exposes college level students to the many facets of training conducted by the FLETC and gives them an opportunity to compliment their college coursework with hands-on experience. Tammi White of Battle Creek, has been named a resident assistant at Iowa State University. RAs advise house residents about house programs, assist in disciplinary matters and serve as counselors. Kris tine Teuscher has received spring semester dean's list honors from Texas Lutheran College, Se-guin, Texas. Michelle Lee Troxel of Battle Creek has been selected as a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society of junior colleges.

Selection for this honor requires ranking in the top 5 per intended to encourage minority enrollment at the college and to develop more minority interest in broadcast employment Olivet College honored 148 former student athletes at its 1988 homecoming. The day's program, "Saluting a Century of MIAA All-Conference Athletes," gave tribute to those athletes who gained MIAA distinction during their time at Olivet Persons honored included David LaBrecque, Marda Hinkley, John Gillette, James Crocker, Ronald Bates and Bruce Barea all of Battle Creek. Three Battle Creek residents have received Calvin College scholarships. The students, who are freshmen at Calvin, are Douglas Horstmanshof, a graduate of Lakeview High School who received a $1600 Calvin National Mater, both of Battle Creek, have graduated from Southeastern Academy, where they studied travel tounsm. Five area students have received Aima Renewal Scholarships to attend Alma College for the 1988-89 college year.

The students are' Jacqueline Carr, a 1985 graduate of Pennfield High School; Ronald t-air, a 1987 graduate of Pennfield High School; Jeremy Lewellen, a 1986 graduate of St Philip Catholic Central High School; Rebecca Turner, a 1987 graduate of Gull Lake High School; and Andrea Woods, a 1985 graduate of Marshall High School Jennifer Leigh Vanas of Battle Creek has received a Catawba Achievement Award to attend Catawba College for the 1989-90 academic year. The scholarships are awarded to freshmen on the basis of academic strength, leadership ability and good citizenship. She is currently a senior at Lakeview High School. Matthew Holman, a 1985 graduate of Marshall High School, was recently inducted into the Michigan Technological University Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Jan Gulliver has received a bachelor of social work degree from Central Michigan University and a master of social work degree from Michigan State University. She is a registered certified social worker. She has eight years of social work experience and is currently with Calhoun County Community Mental Health Services. Stephanie Brown of Ceresco has received a four-year minority scholarship from Aquinas College and WXMI TV-17. She is one of the first two recipients of the newly op Trims and Lights!
