Musicians for the show will be Tom Case, Keric Rowley and Scott Brown. The play is being directed by Gerald E. Brown, assisted by Sandi Brininstool. Edward Musolff is stage manager for the production.

Robin Baber is cast as the crabby, self-assured Lucy; Mike Stulberg as Snoppy who lives atop his dog house; Tom Colwell as the child pianist Schroeder; Carol Lille as the blithely uncomplicated rope-skipper Patty and Chris Chase as the brilliant, sophisticated Linus. Charlie Brown's friends will be played by Lynnie Baber, themes and incidents in the comic strip. "The adventures of a group of child philosophers and their dog friend" was the way one New York theater critic described the musical.

But most of the episodes deal with the misfortunes of born-loser Charlie Brown. These include his hassles with his baseball team, kite flying, essay-writing and his efforts for self-improvement. The music and lyrics in the day in the life of the pint-sized Peanuts gang are as straightforward as the mood of the comic strip. A highlight of the show is the song "Suppertime" done by Snoopy. It's a cakewalk of Good greif grief! The second Battle Creek Civic Theatre play this season, the show will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 7-9. There also will be 2 p.m. matinees of the show on Saturday and next Saturday, Dec.

Ballenger honored bysfate art teachers State Sen. William S. Bal. lengcr (R-Owosso) has been honored by Michigan art teachers for "his outstanding leadership and interest in thearts." The Michigan Art Education Association, meeting in Lansing for a four-day fall conference, presented Ballenger with an original work of art done by Roy Henley, a student in the Mrs. Phyllis Conger's advanced art class at Owosso High School.

KALAMAZOO Richard Leibert, organist at Radio City Music Hall in New York City will present a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Miller Auditorium on the Western Michigan University campus. His program entitled, "The Glorious Sounds of Christmas," will feature music of the holiday season with many selections coming from his famous "Christmas at Radio City Music Hall" album. Leibert, born in Bethlehem, made his first public appearance as an organist at the age of seven.

At age 15, he and his family moved to Washington D.C. where he continued his study of the pipe organ and got his first professional job as a summer replacement organist at the famous Loew's Palace Theatre. Leibert continued his career as a theater organist and was heard in movie palaces in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, and finally as organist of the Brooklyn Paramount Theater.
