Saturday, November 25, 2006 RAYMOND J. BOURBON Born: Aug. 2, 1924; in Chicago Died: Nov. 23, 2006; in Fox Lake He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps FOX LAKE Raymond J.

Bourbon 82, of Leisure Village, Fox Lake and of North Fort Myers, for the past 15 years, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Chicago to Raymond and Genevieve (Leonard) Bourbon. He was a retired engineer of Illinois Bell Telephone after 37 years of employment.

He was a veteran of World War Il, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and he had been a "radarman" for the 452nd Bomb Squadron in England during his army service. He was a member of the Fox Lake Lions Club, of which he was a past president, officer and also had had many other positions. He was a member of Lakes Region American Legion Post 703, a former member of the village of Fox Lake Building and Zoning Committee and a member of the Illinois Bell Telephone Pioneers. In Fort Myers, he was a member of the North Fort Myers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10127, and a member of the Pioneer Village Fun Band of North Fort Myers.

He was very active enjoying dancing, traveling, boating and judo, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine "Lori" Bourbon of Fox Lake, whom he married June 23, 1992, in Northfield; his children, Sheryl (Rich) Herr of Spring Grove, Scott Bourbon of Genoa City, Patty (Len) Swederski of Richmond, Daniel (Deborah) Stegeman of McHenry and Patti (the late Tony) Culotta of Fox Lake; his grandchildren, Brett McClary of California, Tony Culotta of Arizona, Todd Culotta of Texas and Tim Culotta of Wisconsin, Benjamin (Tina) Bourbon of Fox Lake, Jasmine Bourbon of Round Lake, Kevin Grooms of Spring Grove, Jason (Melissa) Grooms of Spring Grove, Traci (Gene) Brown of Spring Grove, Joe Swederski of Richmond, Scott Swederski of Twin Lakes, Jason (Becky) Carter of Colorado and Jo Lynn (Casey) Meirovitz of Utah; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma Bourbon, in 1989. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov.

21, 1932; in Worcester, Mass. Died: Nov. 22, 2006; in McHenry He was U.S. Navy veteran WONDER LAKE David Adane Bowles, 74, of Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.

He was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Worcester, to Cyril A. and Irene (Sampson) Bowles. On July 28, 1972, he married Jean A. Goodeve in Woodstock.

Formerly of Clinton, he was a Wonder Lake resident for the past 39 years. He was the former president of Look Out Point subdivision and also served in various other leadership roles in the Wonder Lake area. His straight talk on Wonder Lake issues was his passion, and he will be greatly missed. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War as a radar technician.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended the University of Illinois earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961. He was a carpenter by trade, and after moving to Wonder Lake, he became proprietor of Contractors Service. He also raised and raced standard breed horses. He liked gardening, was an avid fishing and hunting enthusiast, was very knowledgeable regarding all Chicago sporting activities, and enjoyed swapping stories during coffee time at Busy Bee.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years; five children, Michelle Hennings of Atlanta, Linda (Marlon) Tejada of Waukesha, Mary (Scott) Fredrick of Waukesha, Sandi (Chrys Dudek) Kasting of Nevada City, and Martin (Rhonda) Kasting of Poplar Grove; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Jessica, Benjamin, Caila, Chase, Ryan, Kaley and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Camryn and Taylor; and two sisters, Virginia (the late Tony) Kay of Miami and Barbara Berg of Smyrna, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents. The visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL 60097.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Christ the King Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake. The Rev.

Steven Sabo will officiate. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery in Wonder Lake. She married John Brown on Nov. 17, 1945, in Marengo, at Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Marengo Community High School. She was employed by Marengo Federal Savings and Loan. She was an avid golf fan, a member of BelMar Country Club for many years and vacationed in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for golf.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bryce (Robert) Johnson of Delavan, a son, Alexander (Patricia) Brown of Marengo; a sister, Olive (Ollie) Wunderlich of Marengo; and a granddaughter, Lisa Lacher of Rockford. She was born May 22, 1943, in Findley, Ohio, to Orlo and Ruth (Morrison) McMahon. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from McHenry High School in 1961. She married Harlan Arthur Ernst on June 11, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church in McHenry. She worked as a waitress at Bills Grill in Crystal Lake, Illinois for six years and also worked at various factory jobs. She became a full-time homemaker in 1983 and enjoyed spending time with Harlan.

Her interests included flower gardening, craft shows and garage sales. She is survived by her husband, Harlan; a sister, Linda (Ralph) Kraeplin of Wonder Lake; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice, Fergus Falls. The visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 27, and an hour before service at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home.

21, 2006; Woodstock RIDGEFIELD Donald E. Etes, 67, of Ridgefield, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Centegra Extended Care Center in Woodstock. He was born April 16, 1939, to Donald and Mable (Traver) Etes in Rockford. Inspired by his rural roots growing up on a farm, he treasured higher education and pursued learning experiences that offered him many creative outlets.

His chemistry and engineering background allowed him to develop products as diverse as the foam seat cushions for the Apollo 13 spacecraft to medical devices in the ostomy field. His passion for education led him to lead the early call for a local junior college in McHenry County, where he served as an adviser on numerous projects. His life was characterized by his love for his family and friends, and for his work. An inventor with more than 60 patents, he also was the owner of The Atrium Flower Shop in Crystal Lake for more than 14 years. His hobbies included fly fishing, painting and gourmet cooking.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; a daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) Black; a son, Donald K. (Etsuko) Etes; a stepdaughter, Dianne (Thomas) Buehler; a stepson, David Fickert; his grandchildren, Nicole, John, Jessica, Megan and Matthew; a brother, James (Linda) Etes; and a sister, Patricia (Joel) Oman. 23, 2006, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock. She was born May 26, 1916, in Winnipeg, Canada to Cecil and Adelia (Bowie) Hicks. She owned and operated the Gayle -Wend Beauty Shop in Wonder Lake for 35 years. She was a member of the St. John's Church in Hebron.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Mansfield of Hebron and Wendy (Kenneth Schlobohm) McComb of Bartlett; a half brother, Jack (Martha) Hicks of Ann Arbor, a sister, Patricia Hazelton of Ottawa, Canada; two grandchildren, Kim (Skip) Garlic and Shawn (Anne) Mansfield; two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Kattie Garlic; a friend, Kirk McComb of Carpentersville; and many nieces and nephews.
