Page 4C Wednesday, August 13, 2008 OBITUARIES NORTHWEST HERALD nwherald.com WAYNE J. 'SMILEY' BOTTLEMY Born: May 8, 1927; in Alden Died: Aug. 9, 2008; in Alden ALDEN Wayne J. "Smiley" Bottlemy, 81, of Alden, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at his home.

He was born May 8, 1927, in Alden, to the late Louie H. and Winnie (Van Hoozen) Bottlemy. He worked as a well driller for August Bottlemy Well Drilling in Alden for 15 years. He enjoyed gardening and raising beautiful flowers. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Quartermaster Corps from August 1945 to January 1947.

He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lula Grievett, Isabelle Hage and Jane Goether; and three brothers, August, Milo and Orrin Van Hoozen. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug.

15, at Alden United Methodist Church in Alden, with the Rev. Diana Otterbacher officiating. Interment will be in Alden Cemetery in Alden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alden United Methodist Church, 16532 Route 173, Alden, IL 60033; or Alden Cemetery Association, Alden, IL 60033. Sign the guest book at www. NWHerald.com.obits LARRY LUND Died: Aug. 9, 2008 LAKE LURE, N.C. Larry Eugene Lund, 72, of Lake Lure, N.C., died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born to Arnold and Flo Lund in 1936 and raised in the Dixon area. In high school he was an avid basketball player. He graduated from lowa State University in 1954, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Lynn, and settled in McHenry where he raised his family. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was the publisher of the McHenry Plaindealer from 1960-80, he also was publisher and owner of the Monroe Evening Times from PUBLIC ACCESS TODAY Algonquin Historic Commission When: 7 p.m. Where: Historic Village Hall, 2 S. Main St. Crystal Lake Public Library 1976-90 at which time he sold the company to Bliss Communications. He also bought the Darlington Republican Journal in 1980.

He and his wife made many great friends where ever they went. Together they traveled extensively and saw much of the United States and Europe. Places that they called home were Dixon, McHenry, Davis, Marco Island, I and Lake Lure, N.C. His grandchildren knew him as "Papa Loop" and "Grand-dude." He had a very tight bond with his grandchildren and had special relationships with them all. His favorite pastime was "computering." He was the first one on the block to own a computer and stayed current through all his years.

He was the "on call" computer adviser and helped many people learn how to operate a computer. He also was an avid boater and with his sister, Kay, they were the first to water ski on the Rock River in Dixon. His other passion was aviation and aircraft, he often went to museums and air shows to marvel at the engineering that went into flying. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He spent his life dedicated to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; a son, Brian (and Diane Hubner); his daughters, Margo (Doug) Stutesman and Miranda (Brian) Cross; his grandsons, lan, Charlie and Jack; his granddaughters, Tara, Carly (and Koller), Natalie and Jayden; his sister, Kay Lund Shoffeitt (Farrell) Shoffeitt. Memorial services will be Monday, Aug. 25, at the Fairfield Mountains Chapel in Lake Lure. The family asks that everyone who knew him to remember him as the dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who he was. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either Hospice of Rutherford County or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Dorothy M. Orsolini, 94, of Marco Island, and formerly of McHenry and Richmond, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, in Naples, Fla. She was born April 13, 1914, in Chicago, to the late George and Margaret (Murphy) Grotto. She was married Nello Orsolini on Facilities Committee When: 12:15 p.m.

3, 1978. She was educated in Chicago Public Schools. She was co-owner and partner of Orsolini's Restaurant in Richmond for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richmond, past president of St.

Joseph's Home and Grade School Club, and was a member of St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society. She served as past president of Lotus Country Woman's Club and Richmond Garden Club, was member of the Past President's Club, a Paul Harris fellow of the Richmond Rotary Club, a volunteer at Harvard Hospital and a die-hard Cubs fan. She is survived by a son, Alex (Marcia) Orsolini of Marco Island, nine grandchildren, David and Adam Orsolini of Florida, Don Budzynski, Cory, Amy and Alex Collins of Tennessee, and Dana, Kate and Tyler New of Michigan. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Raschke; and a grandson, Donald New.

The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at EhornAdams Funeral Home 10011 Main Richmond. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug.

16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. James McLoughlin officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Richmond.

Seyller, 88, of Huntley, formerly of Plato Center died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Rosewood Nursing Center in Elgin. He was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Elgin, to Edward C. and Helen E.

(Lester) Seyller. On June 22, 1946, he married Carolyne M. Sommers in Elgin. He is survived by his sister, Edna "Toots" Haines; a daughter, Diana K. (Richard) Chamberlain of Elgin; two sons, Daniel T.

Seyller of Columbia, and Charles A. (Vicki) Seyller of Huntley; four grandchildren, Sonda (Tony) Stuart of Clark Brenda Lewis of Kansas City, Jill (Mark) Butler of Charlotte, N.C. and Keith Malerie Orlandini) Seyller of Huntley; his stepgrandchildren, Kevin (Colleen) Chamberlain of St. Charles and Barbara (David) Hopper of Dublin, Ohio; five greatgrandchildren; and four stepgreatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Harvard.

Stanko, 43, of Woodstock, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Centegra Hospital Woodstock. She was born Jan. 21, 1965, in Greensburg, to Paul R. and Diana M.

(Underwood) Hayes. She married Matt Stanko on May 31, 1991, in Branson, Mo. She loved the outdoors and animals. She enjoyed lying in the sun and horseback tiding. She had a green thumb for gardening cactuses.

But most of all she loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Matt; two sons, Nik Stolzke and Matthew Stanko; a daughter, Shannon (Jamie) Thomas; two grandchildren, Ryan Thomas and Kaylene Thomas; her father, Paul (Rhoda) Hayes; her mother, Diana Hayes; her paternal grandmother, Evelyn Hayes; and two brothers, Robert Hayes and Adam Hayes.
