BUFFALO, N. April 30. Research workers are developing a type of atomic energy which "will dwarf the atomic bombs that brought Japan to her knees," says Dr. Marion L. Pool of the department of physics and astronomy of Ohio State University.

Addressing the American Ceramic Society yesterday, Dr. Pool said that, while scientists did not know yet just what the energy type, called meson, was, they knew It to be many times more powerful than the energy of atomic bombs produced to date. "We are just at the beginning of a new era of atomic energy," Dr. Pool continued. He emphasized the aim of the researchers was not to produce weaDons of destruction but to develop means of aiding humanity by controlling the atoms found in uranium.
