Department of Public Payments were distributed to the various groups in the following manner: Old Age Assistance, 220 persons, Aid To Dependent Children, 141 children, Blind Assistance, 7 persons, $661; Disability Assistance, 33 persons, and General Assistance, 69 persons, $1,564. He received a laceration of the lip contusion of the left ankle and a foreign body was embedded in his right upper eyelid. He was treated and released. Club to Elect SHIPMAN Election of officers will be held at the November meeting of the 11- yard Community Club. The October meeting was held Wednesday at the Joseph Hackney home with Mrs. Wilbur Hackney as program chairman. The meeting date of the club has been changed to the fourth Wednesday of each month. G. Sherman Hefner of Jerseyville observed their 52nd wedding anniversary Friday and the occasion also marked the 84th birthday of Mr. Hefner, occuring the same day. No formal observance was planned but the couple received greetings from and friends. Mrs.

Hefner came to Jersey tounty in 1901 and worked four years on farms before becom- ng a mechanic for the Rice Seed Co. in Jerseyville. He retired in 1948 after 40 years employment with Rices. Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Hefner was born on a farm miles West of Kane on March 27, 1882. She attended Douglas School until 1900 when the family moved to Jerseyville and she completed her education here. She was graduated from the Jerseyville High School and taught Douglas for two years, Sherman School one year and was a member of the faculty of the JerseyvUle Grade School now the East Elementary School five years prior to her marriage. Mr.

Hefner was born at Mattoon, 111., Oct. 25, 1879. At the age of three his parents moved M. Post and Mrs. George Belt, of Jerseyville.

There were 11 children In Mr. Hefner's family and he has two brothers and three sisters living. They are Mrs. Essie Held erscheid of Jerseyville; Mrs. Clyde Borman, Mrs.

Howard ters those now living in addition to Mrs. Hefner being E. A. Crone, Ernest Crone, Mrs. M.
