Evening pcrformancra are scheduled for next Friday and Saturday at 8 .30 o'clock, with matinees next Saturday and on Sunday, March 14, at 2:30 o'clock. One new work and one revival are on the lLst.

The new work, "Theme and Variations," to be presented on opening night, le a classical ballet with music by Tschal-kowsky, costumes by Woodman Thompson and choreography by George Balanchine. Other works scheduled for the first performance are "Romeo and Juliet" and "Interplay." The revival, "Princess Aurora," will open Saturday night's program. It is a rearrangement of excerpts from the 19th century ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" by Marius Petipa, with music by Tschaikowsky. Works to follow include "Tally-Ho" and "Helen of Troy." Saturday's matinee program will offer "Swan Lake," "On Stage," "The Black Swan" and "Fancy Free." The final performance on Sunday afternoon will Include a repetition of "Interplay," along with "Les Patineurs." Featured members of the company include Igor Youskevitch, Alicia Alonso, Nora Kaye, Hugh Laing. John Krlza, Lucia Chase and Dlmitr Romanoff.

The pianist was brought to the stage again and again, afterward, and responded with encores. The most remarkable of these was a Chopin Etude (No. 8 In F), in which her fleet dexterity was all to the fore.

Vladimir Qolschmann's sympathetic support was felt throughout the concerto, but his major attainment was In the Brahms Symphony No. 1 in which was personal In character but nonetheless gratifying artistically.
