Boddicker (7-7) struck out four and walked four in recording his- third straight victory and first shutout of the season. His last shutout was Sept 29, 1988, in a 12-0 victory at Cleveland. The Red Sox have won three straight games and nine of their last 12.

(At) White Sox 6, Brewers 4 Harold Baines, a .397 lifetime hitter against Milwaukee, hit a two-run homer and an RBI single to lead Chicago past the Brewers. The win improved Chicago's record to 8-2 in the season series with Milwaukee, including 4-0 at Comiskey Park. Baines had an RBI single in the first and then a two-run homer in the second that gave the White Sox a 5-0 lead.
