'UP) Army authorities are gratified at the rate of new enlistments In the reRular army, which reached 204.118 on November 1. When enlistments were opened last summer after hostilities ended U was estimated 300.000 men could be enrolled In the regular army by June 1. 1948. Army sources now believe the 300,000 figure will be exceeded. However, they point out that November 21 was one of the deadlines In the "red apple" enlistment law. Soldiers discharged before then had to re-enltst by that date to retain their rank and claim special re-enltitment benefits. Remaining inducements are dependency benefits and privileges under the "O. I. bill of rights" and officials are hopeful enlistments will continue at a high rate. j .! t Vim H. Fiiiauo. tpl. Hnbetl Bibtrin T. 3 irr.ll 1 lMnttruk. H Hgt. llMj A. I ol-lit; Hit. KlclnM J.
