i Rice Cereal It Vertatile HERE'S A SURPRISE FRUIT CAKE FOOD COSTS DOM Favorite Apple Recipe Contest Winners Listed Nearly 3000 Michigan homemakers. representing every city, village and rural county in the state, entered their favorite apple recipes the contest sponsored by the Michigan state department of agriculture and the Michigan apple commission. There were four classifications for recipej. with the winners in each to be awarded a $25 U. S.

Savings Bond: Apples In Desserts. Apples with Meats. Apples with Vegetables and Apples in Salads. The contest was sponsored to encourage new and wider uses for Michigan's fine apples, better in quality this year than ever before. Winner in the Apples with Meat division was Orland Boerma.

Flint Here is her prize "Ham-Apple-Yam Casserole" recipe: 1 slice smoked ham l-l'i pounds 4 medium tart apples cored i 4 medium sweet potatoes or yams cup seedless raisins cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 4 lemon slices Place ham In bottom of large, deep baking dish.
