Therefore, even though Muskegon did win over Grand Rapids and their slate be clean, she would be erased from the list of competitors because of the weakness of her schedule. On the other hand, if Detroit Northwestern wins, a game with Muskegon will necessarily follow. The justice in this is not especially clear, but it is entirely satisfactory to local followers, so a "why worry" attitude has now been taken by the supporters of the Big Red team.

At all odds, Muskegon cannot be considered from a Lansing angle and after a season of hardships and disappointments in many respects, the sky has cleared for the locals and Saturday will witness the supreme clash 'for superiority in state inter-scholastic circles. The team, itself, is alone in deserving praise. To be sure, energetic business men have taken such an active interest that pressure has been brought to bear and the game made possible, yet the real efforts, those which count for everything in the success of the season, have been performed by members of the high school squad. Fortunately, through the foresight of Jim Kiloran, trainer of the squad, the Lansing eleven will be in condition for the fracas at Ann Arbor and when the team steps upon the field Saturday, it will be with the thought that the old world is not such a bad place to play football in after all. The fight Itself looks attractive. Cady has been showing improvement during the last few months which has astonished even his most ardent supporters and is supremely confident over the iinal outcome of the contest. There is no denying) but what Cady will give Texas all the fight he wants and unless the rugged little Southern battler lands a telling punch, the bout should go the limit. Cady, on the other hand, stands little chance to win other than on points. While a dangerous puncher, the local boy hardly packs a jolt which will drop Texas.

The Jackson battler, immigrated from Dallas, Texas, has fought over 200) bouts and has yet to be dropped for a count. Therefore, it is hardly reasonable: to expect Cady to perform what has in the past been an impossible Cady's defense against Texas will be all-important. Texas, however, has had more ring experience than Cady and will use this advantage in good stead than' that even of preceding teams. The Lansing team had claimed the championship, basing their claims upon the fact that they were the only team in the state which had played a representative scheduule. Up until one week ago, it appeared as if their claims were In vain. Then came the fireworks which gave the football situation in our fair state an aspect never before equalled. Things were turned topsy turvy and the well known championship belonged to the school with the best pair of lungs, at that time, it seemed as if Detroit as In many times of the past, would sway sufficient influence off the gridiron to cop the title.

Northwestern and Northern were both ready to Insert their claims and Lansing, despite its wonderful team was seemingly out of the running. Somewhere down the line, however, direct influence was brought to bear, and as a result Lansing takes the field against Detroit Northwestern Saturday afternoon in the game which will virtually settle all disputes. There are conditions, however, which must be determined before the laurels are awarded to any school. One of these conditions is the game Saturday. Should Lansing be defeated.

Northwestern would then have to play Muskegon for the state championship. Muskegon defeated Grand Rapids Central yesterday and thereby entered as a ranking member in the race. Should Lansing win over Northwestern the argument would be over and the local team would be duly awarded the title. The game with Hyde Park here on Dec. 4 figures largely in this deduction.

University of Michigan athletic authorities, through whom it is possible to play the game, have decided that that game, because of its inter-state flavor, should have precedent over anything else which The Big Chance IX FOUR CARTEKS. The bout caused a great show of interest among local patrons of the fistic art, until Promoter John Morrissey, after several ineffectual attempts to arrange the tight, succeeded in signing both ringsters to contracts which stipulate weighing in at 4:30 In many ways this clause of the contract favors the local boy, for he will probably give away some weight to Texas as it is and It is assured that he will have no difficulty in making the weight at the time set. Texas, while he may have no trouble in getting down to that weight, will in all probability enter the ring somewhat weaker than as if he weighed in at 3:00. Cady, however, will not "have to take off any surplus weight, for his natural fighting poundage is closer to 122 pounds than at 12 4. Texas, however, is said to be down around 125 pounds at present and the length of time before the bout is scheduled will give him plenty of opportunity to get down to the pre scribed weight, even though he may enter the ring a trifle weak because ceived the ball and was dropped pn victory over Drake Thursday at Des the Hig Green four-yard line. Since it is the first year in which a cross-country run following conference regulations has been attempted by the Aggies, the season's results are considered remarkable. The big fullback, playing his last game for the Big Green, tore into everything arid scarcely a play was made in which he failed to take part. Playing close to the line on defense, he watched for the direction of every play, and then threw himself into it in such a way that the Notre Dame attack was useless. llammes played the entire game with an injury which made the Aggie coaches doubt the practicability of starting him.
