She was surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by daughter Mary Spencer in 1997. Daphne was a true renaissance woman who was an accomplished artist, spoke several languages, was a patron of the arts, and loved to read the classics. She exuded class, grace, and was a true lady in every sense. She was beautiful inside and out, and held her family and friends as very dear to her. She will be greatly missed by so many who loved her.

Funeral Mass will be held on January 17th at 2:30 pm at St Monica's Catholic Church in Santa Monica. Interment will be private. Margaret Lorrraine Sprague July 24, 1 920 January 3, 2015 Margaret Lorraine Sprague passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2015 in her Corona Del Mar, CA home. Margaret, known as Peggie to her many friends, was born in Porterville, CA on July 24th, 1920. She was a dynamic and generous woman, well known for her philanthropy. Margaret grew up in the Porterville area, graduating from Porterville High School and marrying her first husband, James Waggle, shortly thereafter.

Together they had one son, Jeff Waggle Cole, before James was lost in WWII. This was the first of several husbands she survived throughout her lifetime. She subsequently married Ben Cole, Mark True and Robert Sprague. Margaret was a homemaker but her greatest joy was her philanthropic work and community service. She was very active in community activities and organizations, both in Porterville and the Corona Del Mar area, to which she moved when she married Robert Sprague.

She was a Porterville park commissioner, and member of the Far West Ski Association, 20 Ands, P.E.O., Visionaries, and a director of the Orange County Museum of Art. Margaret and her late husband, Robert R. Sprague, were generous contributors to UCI, Hoag Hospital, and to CHOC, (Children's Hospital of Orange County), among numerous other charities. In 1998, the Spragues were awarded the UCI Medal, the University's highest honor. And in 2008 they received Orange County's Spirit of Philanthropy Lifetime Achievement Award, from the Orange County chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Surviving Margaret is her son, Jeff Cole, and wife, Gwen, of Springville, CA and her three grand children; Casey Cole of Santa Rosa, CA, Kelly Deitrick of Alamo, CA and Capt. Derek Cole of Las Vegas, NV, as well as three great grandchildren. Additionally she is survived by her step- children, Dr. Lois M. Sprague, Ph.D., and spouse, Reverend Dr.

Gwynne M. Guibord, of Los Angeles and William F. Sprague of Crockett, Texas. Services will be held at the Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Corona Del Mar, CA on January 12th at 10 AM. GIESBERG, Richard October 26, 1924-January 7, 2015 Richard "Dick" Giesberg passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2015, surrounded by his family after a lifetime of civil rights and social action work which touched the lives of thousands. Born in Brookline, Massachusettsto Henriette and Adolph Giesberg, Dick served with the 1258th Army Engineering Battalion during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, helped to liberate the Dachau concentration camp, and worked at the Palace of Justice at Nuremburg during the war crimes trials. Dick graduated from the University of Maine, where he met Mildred Cohen (d. September 16, 2012), his beloved wife of 64 years. A true partnership, they shared love, life, and causes.

After moving to Los Angeles, Dick entered retail men's clothing, expanding Barr Company to include the men's concessions at the FEDC0 department stores. For more than 50 years he and Middie pursued interfaith community activism transcending racial, cultural, and socio-economic barriers. His deep understanding of what it means to be a Jew combined with his sensitivity to suffering has guided all of his involvements. Together they were founding members and active participants in Leo Baeck Temple. He was the first president and founder of the Westside Fair Housing Council, President of the Community Relations Conference of Southern Califormia, on the Executive Board of the Urban League, Vice Chairman of the CRC Jewish Federation Council and the LA Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and active in the Black-Jewish Coalition, Latino-Jewish Coalition and Korean-Jewish Dialogue, and other organizations.

Together with Middie, his most passionate work was with Soviet Jewry and Ethiopian Jewry. Dick and Middie were pivotal in the founding and continuing success of the the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry. Dick also focused on addressing the needs of the frail elderly as a long time Board Member ofOPICA. Through his commitment to Tikkun Olam, "repairing the he has enriched the lives of those he loved and bettered the lives of countless others. His greatest joy and love was for his family and friends.

He will long be remembered and sorely missed. He is survived by his daughter Susan (David Lappen) and grandsons Joshua and Michael Lappen and his son Daniel (Carol Lifland) and grandchildren Edith Castillo, and Sasha, Zoe and Matthew Giesberg, and great-grandchildren Adrian and Nicholas Ceren. Northridge, Ca. Billy Gene WelchBill Hart was born on July 28, 1934 in Red Oak, Texas to James William Edmond and Lilly McHam Welch. He passed away at home with family on January 2, 2015 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Because of Bill's faith in God and trust in Jesus Christ as his savior he is rejoicing with the saints gone before him in heaven today.

Upon the passing of Bill's parents he moved to Edinburg, Texas and was raised by his adopted parents Henry Othell and Mildred Welch. Bill attended and graduated from Edinburg High School in 1953 lettering in football and basketball and graduating at the top of his class. After graduation he attended Pan American College a short while before joining and serving proudly in the United States Marine Corp for two years in Korea. In 1958 Billy moved to North Hollywood, California and began a career in the movie business, his first being the 1960 classic "The Alamo" starring John Wayne. He worked as a stuntman and actor in more than 150 movies as well as television shows such as "The Big "Stoney Burke" and others too numerous to mention.

Although Billy never really considered himself from California, it is there he met the girl of his dreams and the love of his life Rina Solowitz or "Rina Mae" as he was fond of calling her. Together they raised four amazing children. He was once asked by a police officer who pulled him over for speeding why he had a Texas driver's license but his car registration was from California, Billy quickly replied he lived in Texas, but his wife was from California. Billy had a quick wit and deep love for family and friends; you might say he never met a stranger and that is acknowledged by the many friends Bill and Rina made over their years together traveling in the movie business and the residences they kept in California and Texas. Billy and Rina went to Texas every chance they had and near his retirement they bought a ranch in Pipe Creek, Texas they named "Coot and Skeet They loved bringing their children, grandchildren, family and friends there to see the beauty and splendor of the "Great Texas He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Bandera Lodge 1123 North Hollywood Lodge 542.

He loved greeting his friends at the lodge, 11th Street, Wild Horse and the OST Restaurant with "Yaateeh" which is hello in Navajo. Bill and Rina's last trip to Edinburg was to celebrate his 61st class reunion with friends this past October at the Echo Hotel in Edinburg, Texas. Bill will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who ever had the pleasure of meeting him, Bill never liked saying goodbye, it just seemed to permanent, so it was always 'Adios" farewell until we meet again. Bill is survived by his wife Rina Welch Hart, natural brother Jack (Fay) Welch, adopted brothers Tillmin Gene (Carrie Beth) Welch, Stanley Othell (Tere) Welch, two daughters Theda Carlene Welch Hart, Kimberly Hart, one son Jimmy (Jessica) Hart, brother in laws, Jeff (Kathy) Solowitz, Ray Solowitz (who Bill called his best friend in California), and grandchildren Allan Michael (shadow) Steiner, Melissa (skeet) Steiner, Danica Hart and Jake Hart and mother-in-law Lea Solowitz. Volunteered at Skirball and was part of a writing class for older adults. Her children survive her- Mel Schatz and wife, Holly; Mona Schatz, and partner, Michael Salz; grandchildren, Adam Whitney and Thain.

She will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. ZANKOVICH, Stella Stella Zankovich died peacefully Saturday January 3, of natural causes at the age of 87 surrounded by her children and family. She was born May 2, 1927, to Niko and Stana Vukazich in Indiana Harbor, Indiana. After graduating from high school, Stella and the entire family moved to Pasadena in 1947, opening a restaurant, the Topper Cafe, in Eagle Rock. Sava Church to which she dedicated most of her adult life. Stella married Tony in 1954 and devoted herself to her husband and family. She is survived by her four children, Linda Brown, Tom Zankovich (Karen), Laura Christensen, Diane Hartman (Bill), grandchildren, Shannon, Christina, Katie, Christopher, Kayla and Natalie, her sister Jennie, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom loved her and will miss her strength advice, baked goods, and custom knit slippers. He retired in 2002 and immediately signed up to play Senior Softball in the Conejo Valley, playing for 12 years and making many new friendships.

Stan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marsha, son Steven Berman (Jennifer), daughter Julianne Canter (Curt), grandson Shane Canter, granddaughters Emily and Olivia Berman, sister Sandra Sandler, extended family and friends.
