It tntlTjdes palntlna-a and sculpture and the largely of the medieval and Remlisanc periods. It forma what the If oeeurn Itself calls a noaihle addition to 1U collections of those periods. both by: the Mh average quality of the collection as: a whole, and by the rafrjfcrkabl excellence of a number of i the Individual objects." ''There are many Museum viators who will deeply rearret that It was necessary to make use of the Recent Accessions Room even, to house this beautiful collection. The practice of placing for a time Its latest acquisitions In one room of easy access, before they were distributed to their permanent reetlng- places In the Museum, a comparatively recent practice, had been found most satisfactory. Already complaints hare been received elnoe the room has been closed while the present' Instalment was being soade.

But the Museum lacks room. The bequest eft the Drelcer collection was made with the proviso that it should be kept together as the Dtcieer collection for twenty-five years It was ae- eepted wltll that Condition, and to place it on vies immediately it was necessary, though with rerreti to sacrifice the Recent Accession Room as such. The collection will remain here until the new wins; of the. Museum Is completed and the time when thai will be is indefinite. In the meantime the room serves de-I'fhtfuUy for Its present use and visitors ir teres ted in the arts of the periods which the acollectlon represents will be charmed tJ find these beautiful things so admirably placed.

The room has been entirely done over to install the collection, the color of tha walla has been changed, and the hlg-h window at ne side has been closed and there are artificial light which are admirable. The collection fills the room comfortably and everything Is seen to advantage.
