The change la attributed to the Introduction of the; fall road. For over a century East- hampton'i connection with the outside world consisted of a line of stage and a telegraph wire. Js'ow, all la changed. The Iron (horse stop almost at the door- yard of East hamp ton's oldest resident. Though it la! several weeks since the first locomotive puffed It way to thl place, the people continue to be urprlsd every time they hear the shrieking whistle of de parting and arriving train.

Th extension of the railroad has assisted Easthamptoii aa a Summer resort. While It has for year been the Bummer home of many city people. It Is now destined to find each year a substantial addition to Its open-season population. While at manv Dlaces the seaann Is tunt about opened, the Easthkmpton season has been a irealit since the 1st of June. The cottage owner know of the beauties of the early season idown here, and the pleasure ana attractiveness or the early Autumn, and arrive early and remain late.

One of the attractions here is the superb surf bathing. The bathlnir navllions were nnenerl nn Mon day, and the line of stages that run from tne village to the coast line have been well patronised. The pavilions have been materially! Improved since last year. Beside a large addition of dressing rooms, new water tanks iahd shower baths have been added. iThere are how accommodations for between KM And HJ bathers, and the scenes during i thei hours, for taking a dip are lively.
