Thomaa Gre-tart owned the property twenty-seven years aeo, and his cranddauxhter and her mother are suing to estalollsh their ownership. Orcgan kept Uvery stable on the corner. an the place was the resort of Tweed. "Prince Harry" Genet. Peter B.

Sweeney, Judge Barnard, John McUrtde Davidson, and other friend of Tweed, all of whom owned fast horses, which they stabled with Gregan Gregan died in January, lsGS. He left a son. ward J. Gregan. for whom John Mc-Itrlde Davidson was appointed guardian.

Young Gregan was married In 1ST 2 to a woman who Is now Mrs. Charlotte Courtney, having remarried after her first husband's death. In the litigation, which Is now going- on over the property. It Is charged that young Gregan. on Aptll 24.

It is the action of the daughter that is on trial before Judge Beach. She is represented by Norman A. Lawlor.

John EL Parsons appears for the trustees. Mrs. Courtney and her daughter. Miss Gregan, both testified yesterday. It was admitted that they had signed the papers referred to, and that and l.Sou had been paid.

Mrs. Courtney said that she understood that the tZ.T had been paid. for the support and education of her daughter. Neither of them understood the nature of the papers that they had The release of dower and other papers which they aad signed ware put in evidence. The trial was not concluded.

Severance for contempt of court. i Mr. Severance appeared before Chief Jus tice Ehrllch as counsel for Rudolph Aron son, the theatrical manager, in a suit brought by Carl Stringer to recover $1,814.13 for money loaned. When Mr. Blr- inger finished his direct testimony Mr.

tooverance took him in hand for cross-ex amlnatlon. He asked a long aeries of questions that the Court ruled out as Irrelevant. Mr. Sov. erahce received these rulings in no amiable spirit, and finally the Judge said that he must cease his rude remarks, and stop wasting the time of the court by asking uuNuura inn nau no Dearing jn the case.

Mr. Severance did not drv much atten. tlon to the Judge's admonitions, and the Court finally told the witness not to answer any more questions propounded by Sever ance. The lawyer took exception to this order and insisted that Birlnger should answer his Questions. Don't answer," said the Chief Justice narpiy.

Mr.

The application of Meyer Feuchtwanger of TI7 Lexington Avenue for a prellnlnary ln- luncUon restraining the Metropolitan Street Hallway Company from operating a cable road in front of his premises was denied yesterday by Judge Dugro In the Superior Court. It was asserted by Mr. Feuchtwanger that the railway company had not obtained the consent of a majority of the property own ers along the proposed route of the road from Forty-second Street along Lexington Aenu iv io iiariem rciver.

Heyward's will was executed in Paris on Feb. 2, and under it she gives all of her property. Including over which she had power of appointment under the will of her husband, to her daughter, Zeflta. and appoints her as execu trix ana uiircora a. nana as executor, tier grandson, Frank I.

Heyward, resides with his mother. Georgians R. Heyward. in Brooklyn. His father, Frank D.
