Saturday at Alt. Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Robert Ballard. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Her attendants were Mrs. Sandy Sutzer of Garden City and Mrs. Nancy Rayfield of Brevard, both sisters of the bride. Jack Rayfield served as best man. Ushers were Allen Gillis, Ben Cook and Ronald Holcombe, brother of the bridegroom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Allen of Barnardsville. The bridegroom is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. John Lewis Marlowe of Fairview. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of nylon organza trimmed with sequins and Chantilly lace. Her chapel-length train was detachable and her floor-length mantilla was trimmed in matching lace.

Miss Susan Worley of Weaverville was maid of honor. She wore an Empire gown of yellow eyelet polyester and a matching headpiece. She carried two long-stemmed yellow roses. Bridesmaids were Miss Pauline Martin of Weaverville, Miss Carol Shuford and Miss Lois Martin of Barnardsville, and Miss Sherry Miller of Fairview. They wore green gowns like that of the honor attendant, with -matching headpieces and carried long-stemmed yellow roses.

Mr. Marlowe was his son's best man. Ushers were David Mar- Mt. Terrace Weaverville. Miss Joan Marcia Knight and Donald Stuart CaUcr were united in marriage at 3 p.m.

Saturday in Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. John W. Tuton conducted the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. John Marsh Knight of 14 Beaverdam Knoll. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bennett Calder of 138 West-wood Road.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full-length gown of organza with Venise lace trim and chapel-length train. Her veil of illusion was attached to a Camelot cap of matching lace and seed pearls. Mrs. Emily Knight Thomas of Concord was her sister's matron of honor. She wore a dress of flocked swiss organza with a pale blue underlay.

She carried a bouquet of light blue and white pompons with pink sweetheart roses and baby's breath. Bridesmaids were Miss Jeanne Grace Buckeye of Minneapolis, Miss Mary Katherine Worrall of Asheville, Miss Betty Jo Romano of Asheville, Miss Connie Frances Sanford of Memphis, Tenn. and Miss Carol Leslie Knight of Asheville, sister of the bride. John Thomas Calder of Charlotte was his brother'3 best man. Ushers were John Merlin 1 of Charlotte, Raymond Monteleone of Charlotte, Paul Lawrence Knigiit MRS.

KEVIN CLARK the former Miss Cheryl Stern Hi den Ramsey, both of Asheville, and Cullen Clark of Murphy. The bride attended the. University of North Carolina at Asheville for two years and is presently employed by the Hilton Inn. The bridegroom attended Western Carolina University, and University of Nortn Carolina. He is presently employed by United Parcel Service.

She wore full-length organza gown accent with Venise lace and chapel train. Her organza veil was trimmed in Venise lace and seed pearls. Miss Karen Elizabeth Buchanan of Charlotte was maid of honor. She wore a deep pink gown and a pink picture hat. and Mrs. Jim Birney of Minerva announce the engagement of their daughter, Janice Kay, to Steve C. Garling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Garling of Swannanoa, N.C.

The bride-elect Is a 1974 graduate of Milligan She will be employed for the summer as a probation officer for Carroll County, Ohio. Mr. Garling attended Milligan College and is no serving with the U.S. Coast Guard in Calif. An August wedding is planned.

The bride's gown of white eyelet over white dacron was designed by Miss Teresa sister of the bride. Her tierra was made of white stephonotis and baby's breath.
