The Dow-Jones industrials, which dropped 3.08 points Tuesday and 2.71 Wednesday, fell 5.42 Thursday to close at 1025.06. Declining issues overpowered advancing ones on the Big Board, 986 to 471. Trading was active as 1808 total issues and 17.93 million shares changed hands. Lawrence Percival, partner in charge of research at Bruns-Nordeman, chalked up the market decline to seasonal factors.

"It's the ususal irregular action that comes -into play in mid-December" when tax loss selling is under way, he said. "It should be disappearing in a few days," with the rush of reinvestment demand in January. NAIIONAl WlAtNlt 1KVICI COMCAST 7AM lit 12- 14-7? 30.M 30.M 30.00 ACF Industries Allegheny Corp.
