"Continue to participate in the Horse Tour. "Support all agricultural events. "Hold agri-business tours. "Work to increase agri-membership. "Conduct a survey of the ag community for their needs. "Complete a hospitality survey as it relates to the fairground complex. , . , "Inform local merchants of events taking place in our area by displaying placards in businesses. *Increase media coverage of ag events. MEMBERSHIP BREAKFAST Chairperson—F aye Chessher *Plan, organize and direct the activities of the six scheduled breakfasts. . *Host one evening social membership gathering. VISTOR & CONVENTION DEVELOPMENT Chairman—Charles Brandt * Advertise and promote the Seguin area as a visitor destination, concentrating on special events, historic sites, incentives and recreation. *Aggressively promote Seguin and the Coliseum for conventions and meetings. . *Particiapte in travel and recreation shows with the Seguin travel booth. *Fund re-design of the city float and underwrite expense ot participation in Texas parades. *Encourage visitor-oriented private enterprise; i.e.. KV panes, motels, restaurants. 'Supervise production of the new city-county map and other visitor- oriented publications. COMMERICAL DEVELOPMENT Chairman—Roger Duncan "Provide workshops, possibly three per year; i.e., business-stress management, salesmanship, time management, promoting "Encourage the local trade area to do business in Seguin, by developing a brochure and promoting the numerous goods and services available in Seguin. "Continue awarding the Seguin Pride Award. "Continue the Beautification Award Program. "Establish a new Commercial Development Assistance Program. "Update the economic data profile. "Initiate a labor cost survey. "Disseminate more economic news through the Chamber newsletter which affects business in Seguin and Guadalupe County. "Sponsor seminars of interest to local firms. "Conduct plant tours in recognition of Texas Business and Industry Week. "Communicate with high school, college and technical schools regarding the labor needs of our local industry. "Support Annual Career Day through the school system. "Enhance public awareness of industrial products in the area. "Use the committee to produce a closely knit industrial community. EDUCATION Chairman—Bill Ermel "Promote quality growth at all levels of the educational community. "Further implementation of the Adopt-A-School Program. *Host an Appreciation Program for teachers.
