Dec. 6 thru 31. 1-765-9677. the inside line 'o Houston Fine Sue DaupMn Windmill's "Harvey" Has Local Color In Knight And Suggs There is a decided tinge of local color to The Windmill Dinner Theatre's production of "Harvey". Two of Its actors...Che Knight... and Harold Suggs—are Houston residents—and a third...Jerry Strickland... Is a native of Baytown. Che and Harold have both been seen at Country Play- nouse...and numerous other area theatres. Jerry has gone on to a New York acting career, but still remembers his days as an apprentice at the old Alley Theatre on Berry street In the 60's. Harold says he had all of three days notice to learn his role as the crusty Judge Oaffney. In another mid-rehearsal cast switch Marty Ambrose took over the lead role In Theatre Southwest's "The Seven Year Itch".. when Tony Camplse became ill. Marty has recently left his radio "Traffic Central" post to go Into real estate. He'll be missed by a good many freeway commuters who listened for his traffic jam reports. The Houston Symphony's Dec. 4th thru 6th concerts...will feature two very young... very exciting musical talents. The youngest person ever to conduct a subscription series concert with the New York Philharmonic...James Conlon made his Metropolitan Opera debut last season...at the age of 26...conductlnB Die Zauberflote. He has conducted In England... Scotland...Italy...and Norway...lending the orchestra for the Scottish Opera's MacBeth... and appearing for two seasons at the Berlin Festival. He will debut with the London Symphony this season. The piano soloist for the Houston concerts will be Hurray Perabla... who made his New York Philharmonic debut at the age of 25...in 1672 and has played all the major music capttols of the US and Europe. His awards Include the New York Young Concert Artists Award...The Koscluskl Chop in Prize ...and the Avery Fisher Artist Award. He was the first American ever to win the Leeds International Piano Competition In England. In other Houston Symphony news. ..-17 year old Mark Morton has won the 1977)76 Student Auditions in piano...and Maurice Sklar a 14 year old Johnston Jr. High student placed first In violin. The two will receive cash prizes...In addition to being Invited to perform with the Symphony next spring. Country Playhouse's George Jonte...has taken on a courageous assignment. He's direct- Ing the CPH production of Clare Booth Luce's "The Women". The cast Includes 28 women and not a single man. The show...opening Dec. 2..; lust missed the International Women's Year convention...but that's probably just as welt Its all about a gaggle of very feline society women and their divorces. The action all takes place In such settings as powder rooms, beauty salons and bridge clubs. O 0 OOP OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ait your nails on a protein ditt.
