The "Charles Haner Aircraft Model Memorial Display" was recently dedicated at Aces High Gallery, 433 Baltimore St." Gettysburg. The late Charles "Charlie" Haner was a World War II veteran from Gettysburg who spent much spare time and energy painstakingly building plastic model aircraft to museum type specifications from his home on West Middle Street. Haner was a flight engineer during World War II. Steve and Barbara Shultz, owners of Aces High Gallery, along with Charlie's widow Mary Haner, his son-in-law Jim Newman and wife Donna, and Charlie's sister, Betty Newman, dedicated a portion of the Gallery, to Charlie, his models and to his service to our country. Steve Shultz and Mary Haner cut the ribbon, dedicating the Charles Haner Aircraft Model Memorial Display at Aces High Gallery, 433 Baltimore St., Gettysburg. Christopher B. Shelter was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy in Pensacola, Fla. Shetter is a 1995 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He attended Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, graduating in December 2001 with a degree in geography. While attending college, he also served a two- year mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Shetter will be attending Naval Officer's Flight School in Pensacola, Fla. Shetter and his wife, Amy and son, Byran will reside in Pensacola, Fla. He is the son of Edward and Glenda Shetter of Gettysburg. A preventive care visit will automatically enter any child ages 6-14 to win a new bicycle. The ninth winner is Jennifer Clark, shown with Jennifer Adkins. Clark is a seventh grader in Littlestown. Voltz, the son of Navy Lt. Ted and Rebecca Voltz and grandson of Fred and Marilyn Borrell all of Charles County, Md., was attending the recent World War II encampment at the Eisenhower Farm, where his great-grandfather, C. Windsor Miller of Carroll Valley, was the speaker. The tank, bearing the name "At Ease" and the markings of Miller's tank is part of a large collection of World War II vehicles owned by Frank Buck of Gettysburg.
