North Flum Street Marysville housewives found their washwater slightly softer this morning as a result of water again being supplied by Mill Creek after using well water for the last two weeks. Water from the creek started flowing through the mains at five o'clock Saturday afternoon. Friday's 1.5 Inches of rainfall coupled with nearly a half-inch on Saturday started the creek to after It had reached its lowest level in several years. The rain was accompanied by unseasonably hot weather when the temperature hit a high of 84 here Sunday 65 today. The rain was a solution to the fish situation in the creeks of this vicinity.

Plans had been made to remove many of the fish this week from pools to deeper water. The water level had fallen to 23 inches below the, dam previous to Friday's rain. It started flowing over the dam early Sunday morning. Although the water company from" the creek 1 Saturday afternoon, housewives did not have full benefit of the softer supply, until'today. The standplpe is connected with the main line and it will be necessary for all of the hard water which filters with the soft, to get put of the mains before the full benefit of the softer supply can be realized.

Although less than an Inch of water fell In September, it would not have been necessary to start using water from wells had there not been such a deficiency of rainfall this year, Russell Banks, manager of the Ohio Water Service Company pointed out. At the last of August there was a deficiency of 6.23 inches of rainfall for the year which, coupled with September's dry weather, made pumping of water from wells necessary. The temperature today was within one degree of reaching the oil-time high for October 0, which was 86 in 1870 and 1016.
