She attended schools in Coolidge and Tempe, was an honor student at Tempe High School and was graduated in IMS with high distinction from Arizona State University, where she majored in French and minored hi German. She was a candidate the past year at the University of Indiana for her master's in French. She also studied French at the University of Grenoble, France, and at the University of Vienna, Austria, in the summeri of She would have received her M.A, in French this August at the University of Caen, France.

At ASU she was a member of Natani and Mortar Board honorary organizations and Phi Kappa Phi sorority, and a member of National Honor Society and president of Tri-Hi-Y, while at Tempe High School. She had been a member of the Sunday School and Pilgrim Youth Fellowship of the church, and of Girl Scouts, where she had to tht Curved Bar rank. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W.

Esther Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and was educated in Lordsburg, N.M., and Safford schools. From 1918 to 1948 she made her home in Tucson while her husband was a conductor for the Southern Pacific.
