Va. THt OASTOMU OAHTTl. July Issue invitations to attendants' escorts Mrs. Sarah Willettc Slowc Sarah Stowe is bride of Robert Douglas Williamson Dear Mrs. Post: Some questions have arisen in regard to addressing the inner envelopes of wedding invitations.

I am asking your help and will'appreciate your opinions. 1. In the case of unmarried attendants, either ushers or bridesmaids, should not the names and addresses of the companions they wish to bring to the reception be obtained and separate invitations be issued to them? 2. Admittedly there are people who use "Mr. Smith and Guest" or "Mrs.

Jones and Escort" on the inner envelopes. In my opinion this is issuing a "secondhand" invitation and is therefore al least slightly discourteous. There may be rare occasions when the obtaining of Ihc names and addresses of such guests may bo impossible and in Ihese cases I would think the "and Escort" might be used and be acceptable though not entirely proper. Am I correct on this? E.T. Right--on all scores! is calling picks op the telephone, the caller ases "Job Jones."
