Shrewsbury Passes School Bond Again For Addition Plan The Associated Press SHREWSBURY Town voters have approved a bond to build a coiftroversial addition to Shrewsbury Mountain School. Nearly 85 percent of all voters turned out Thursday to approve, 260-246, the $349,000 bond. It was the second time in two months the town passed the question. Pebate on the measure has persisted for months and divided residents. Opponents called the addition too ambitious and objected to closing hfltwo-rnom Northam School.

The School Board supported the expansion, saying that placing all the district's children in one building would be better for their education and, would help the district meet state standards for public schools. The first vote came in April, when residents approved the bond by a single vote. Within days, opponents organized a petition to reconsider the question. fechool Board Chairman Grace Koizon said final state approval for the; addition would come in six to eight weeks. Vermont Lottery numbers 168 ond 8903 were drawn Friday in the daily lottery.
