VIEWING WED EVE 7-9 P.M. BUSH MILDRED EDLICH BUSH, 84, of Palmyra, New Jersey, former Vice President of Accounting, Installment Loan Department of Industrial Valley Bank in Jenkintown, PA, died suddenly of a massive stroke March 17, 2005 while vacationing with her husband in Florida. Mrs. Bush, initially a loan clerk, rose through the ranks to become IVB's first female vice president. She would often say that in order for women to be successful in business they had to be twice as smart as, and work twice as hard as men.

Then, with a wry smile, she would add, "Fortunately, this is not difficult." She retired from IVB in 1985. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Bush aspired to be a writer. She enrolled at Ohio State University, and received a bachelor's degree in Journalism. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and served as the Treasurer of the Nu Chapter.

In 1979, she earned a diploma from the Graduate School of Consumer Banking of the University of Virginia. Prior to living in New Jersey, her family lived in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County, PA. While there, Mildred was active in school affairs and became treasurer of the school board. She and her husband were avid sailors. They are members of the Riverton Yacht Club and were members of the Delaware Valley Sail Club, enjoying many years of sailing with friends on the Chesapeake Bay.

The Bushes enjoyed sixty three years of married life. Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Dukert in 1996. Left in bereavement is her sister, Shirley Van Leuven; her husband, Norman: a daughter Joan Malley, Murrysville, PA; a son Jeffrey, Voorhees, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Brian and Bernard Dukert, Christina Palsky and Jessica Malley, and Daniel and Laura Bush. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 1 A.M. on April 8th at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 Fourth Street, Riverton, N.J.
