Allen was born Feb. 5, 1922, in St. Albans, son of Frank H. and Laura (Sheldon) Allen. He was a track machine operator for Central Vermont Railway.

He wise a Navy veteran, serving during World War 11, and a member of Green Mountain Post 1 of the American Legion and Robert E. Glidden Post 758, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Anna (Vanslette) Allen; a son, David W. Allen of St. Albans; a daughter, Mrs.

James (Carol) Hudock of Merrillville, three grandsons, Jeffrey, John Jason Hudock of Merrillville. His mother died in March of 1981. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 S. Main with the Rev.

DR. JOHN L. GREGORY The Rev. Dr. John L.

Gregory, 85, died Thursday, April 8, in Orlando, Fla. Born in Monroe, N.Y., he spent winters Florida and in Essex Junction and Lake Dunmore. Dr. Gregory, a Methodist minister, retired as secretary general of the Vermont Church Council in 1963. He was also a well-known amateur Vermont artist who sold many paintings his homes in Essex Junction and Dunmore.

Mr. Provost was a sheet metal worker most of his life. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. His wife, Edith, predeceased him in 1978. He is survived by one son, Daniel E.

of Winooski; one daughter, Marion Blanchette of Burlington; one sister, Dorothy Barrett Danville, Calif. He was predeceased by a son, Robert, in 1954; a daughter, Margaret; and a brother, Ralph. LARROW DANIEL W. PROVOST SOUTH HERO Raymond F. Larrow, 73, of South Hero died Wednesday, May 26, at the Medical Center Hospital, Burlington, after a brief illness. was born Dec. 31, 1 1908, South Hero, son Arthur and Ida (Parrott) South Hero for 25 years.

Jesse Larrow and Collin Larrow, predeceased him. Memorial service will be held Saturday at 4. p.m. in the South Hero Congregational Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

7, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Victor and Eleanor (Smith) Auguste. Lillian was a resident of Middiebury, formerly of Long Island. She was married to Patrick F. Dawson Sr. for 49 years, who passed away Nov.

20, 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Middlebury and did volunteer work at the Round Robin for the Porter Medical Center Auxiliary. She is survived by nine children; five sons, Patrick F. Jr.

and William both of Long Island, Bruce A. of Texas, Douglas J. of Long Island and Dennis C. of Connecticut; four daughters, Jacqueline Dawson Lawless of Island, April Dawson Piltz of Long Island, Gail Dawson Smith of Middlebury and Maureen Dawson Messner of Long Island; 24 grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Auguste of Queens, N. Y.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church Middlebury. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Waite Funeral Home in Middlebury today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. VIOLA M. LAFLAM MIDDLEBURY Viola M. LaFlam, 84, died Wednesday in a nursing home in Rutland. She was born May 1, 1898, in Goshen, daughter of James and Alva (Fletcher) Merrill.

She was a member of the Middlebury Baptist Church. She worked at the Cooperative Fire Insurance Co. in Middlebury for many years. She was the widow of Richard LaFlam, who died in 1953. She is survived by one son, Basil Strangeway of California; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Memorial Baptist Church in Middlebury. Burial will follow at Seeley District Cemetery in Middlebury. Friends may call at the Waite Funeral Home Saturday evening from 7 to 9. ALICE M.

BRONSON BRIDPORT Alice M. Bronson, 89, passed away Wednesday at a nursing home in Barre. She was born July 5, 1892, in Bridport, daughter of Thad and Alice (Litch) Myrick. She was the widow of Horace Bronson who died in 1970. She attended schools in Bridport and also taught school in Bridport and Weybridge and for many years was a 4-H leader.

She is survived by six sons, Wymond of Ferrisburg, Lloyd of Hydeville, Bernard and Malcolm of By Bridport, Horace Jr. of South Burlington and Thad of Cornwall; one daughter, Mrs. Emile (Thelma) LaRocque of Bridport; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-greatgrandchildren.
