from Chihuahua today said that a passenger train which left Chihuahua on the 16th, was held at Bustillos, the military authorities fearing to permit it to proceed to Monaca until a detachment of troops could reach that point to insure the safety of the train. Rumors were current that the rebels had torn up the railroad anew in the vicinity of Malpa80. Program changed daily at Theato. Yesterday merning between three and four o'clock, a store on Bingham heights owned by Baxter Pike was totally destroyed by fire. Just before th fire was discovered a man was seen leaving the yard in the rear of the building, and as tracks were found in the vicinity of the building, the fire is thought to have been of cendiary origin.

An axe, which was positively identified as belonging to one of Mr. Baxter's near neighbors, was found near the building and door, which was not entirely consumed by the flames, bearing scars aS though it had been battered in with the axe, leads to the suspicion that the store was first robbed and then set afire by the robber to cover up his tracks. Early yesterday morning Sheriff Willams was notified of the evidence which points to arson and robbery and during yesterday several investigations were made. No clue to the robber has as yet been found and the authorities are still in the dark as to the whereabouts of the man who is thought to have robbed the store and then set it afire. The building was not covered by insurance.

Two men went to Nice lately from Italy to attend a funeral and took with them a wreath of flowers to which was fastened a silk ribbon bear. ing an inscription.

They were informed at their destination that they would have to pay a duty equivalent to $25. The mourners protested, saying that the wreath was made of natural flowers on which there was no duty, but they were informed that the dutiable part was the silk and that, according to the tariff laws, duty must be collected on the gross weight of the memorial emblem. Then the men agreed to throw the ribbon away, but this could not be done on French soll, and so they journeyed back to frontier, where they disposed of the ribbon, boarded a train for Nice with the ribbonless wreath and arrived too late for the funeral.
