tsci Public Radio Station Could fBe on the Air by September 100 DORSET STREET, SOUTH BURLINGTON 3 I (r In addition, Vermont Public Radio received a $25,000 grant from the Corp. for Public Broadcasting in Washington this October. According to Phillips, who is on leave this year from his post as dean of the division of continuing education at UVM, the station would operate with a full-time staff of nine professional people. And Vermont Public Radio President Raymond Phillips said while "there are still a lot of problems," the station could be operating by September 1976. Though partially funded by the state, ETV is administrated by the University.

classic radio shows and drama. Phillips said there has been a general resurgence of interest in radio by the several generations who missed growing up with "The Shadow" and "Jack Armstrong the All American Boy." "The wonderful thing about radio is that it draws the listener in and makes his imagination work," said Phillips. The main obstacles for the station now, Phillips said, are the FCC and the weather. Processing of the license application by the FCC could take as long as a year, and broadcast facilities cannot be constructed in the winter. But if everything goes well, the station could be broadcasting by fall, said Phillips.
