The results of the survey, presented Wednesday to the state Environmental Board, indicated strong public support for strong measures for preservation of the environment. Among the statewide survey results: 77 per cent favored a capital gains tax to discourage real estate speculation. 90 per cent called for a change in the system of property taxation, favoring basing appraisals on present land use, a public land use plan, or other method in hopes of keeping land open. 82 per cent said the agriculture industry should be encouraged to grow in Vermont, but only 12 per cent advocated growth in the vacation home industry, and 11 per cent favored increase in electric power production.

57 per cent said out-of-staters should be discouraged from having homes in Vermont either vacation homes or permanent homes. 81 per cent favored purchase of scenic and open space easements by the state. The survey results were explained to the board by EPIC officials Anthony Scoville and Adrian Noad. Undervalued! Should Johnson be called to testify, it would be after the government presents its case. Weinglass said the former president is among "30 or 40 witnesses" on a list being considered by the defense. He said that Johnson's testimony could prove that the segments of Pentagon Papers were already in manuscript form in Johnson's book at the time Ellsberg and Russo were accused of stealing them. He said that if the defense can prove the papers were already public knowledge, it would aid in proving that the defendants did not commit espionage, con- (please print) State City- -Zip- Home Phone -Business Phone- In Fine Dining BANQUET FACILITIES for 400 PEOPLE Weddings Parties Business Meetings 3 DINING ROOMS 2 Beautiful Cocktail Lounges Complete Elegance at Modest Prices ESSEX JUNCTION A parade through Essex Junction from 6 to 7 this evening, followed by a teen-age dance, will kick off the 11th annual Charity Fair sponsored by the Richard Workman children.

The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Gov. Davis and the state's Cancer Crusade chairman Norman Bricknell of Middlebury, will be among the featured parade guests, and they will speak at the Park Street School after the parade.

Village President William Roberts will welcome them. Also in the parade will be the Chittenden County Crusade chairman, Richard Tarrant of Burlington, and the Essex Town chairman, Mr. and Mrs. Henry LaVoie Jr. Olumpic skier Barbara Cochran, Yancy Stillinger and the "Tooth Fairy" also will be featured in the parade, along with the 1972 Little League winners, the Dodgers and their coach Marshall Fleming.

The Essex Junction and South Burlington Fire Departments will present a game of water polo after the speeches, using hoses to guide a volleyball. John Workman said their goal this year is to raise $1,200 for the Cancer Crusade. The Workman children lost their mother as a result of cancer, and have held the fair each year to benefit the cancer-society. Last year, they netted $750 in spite of rain. The fair this year will include a dunking stand, and Richard Steggerda, Essex Junction High School English teacher, has volunteered to take the stand.

There will be kiddie rides, games and refreshments, all manned by the six Workman children, neighbors and volunteers. Sponsors this year are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hood of Essex Junction. In case of rain, the fair will be held Sunday and Monday.

Yancy Stillinger will present a comedy act at 1 p.m. each day. The teen-age dance tonight is from 8 to 11 at the Albert D. Lawton Intermediate School, with music by the Triads.
