can Public Radio Station Gets $25,000 Grant WASHINGTON The State of Vermont will have access to a public radio service for the first time as the result of a $25,000 grant awarded Vermont Public Radio by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPBi. Vermont Public Radio, a nonprofit organization chartered last June, plans to develop a statewide public radio service. According to Raymond V. Phillips of Burlington, president of the new organization, the station could be on the air by next July. CPB's radio coverage expansion project grants are designed to support the development of full-service public radio stations in currently unserved population areas.

These new stations must serve a minimum of 350,000 persons with year-round programming at least 18 hours a day. The $25,000 grant to Vermont Public Radio is to help support prebroadcast activities such as engineering studies, community ascertainment, program planning and fund-raising. Because Vermont has a relatively small population, a statewide FM service was proposed to meet the minimum population criterion. Members of the board of trustees will come from all parts of the state. The initial Board of Directors includes Phillips: Bradford E.

Rehm. Bradford, vice president; and Howard O. Stearns, Burlington, secretary and treasurer. Another board member. Raymond G.

Dilley, St. Albans, will be the radio project director. Grant recipients successfully completing this first phase are eligible to seek competitive operational support grants ranging up to $225,000 during their first three years of broadcasting. f0 Fo) "5 fi) Minute Msid frozen I5n7 ran SkiDDV Creamv 18oz.jar $1.38 28 oz jar PeterPan Orange Juice Morton's PumDkin or frozen Peanut Butter 880 Marshmallow Fluff 1602 ia Betty Crocker Trix or Cocoa 8 oz. pkg.
