Pavlak Supervisors chairman, 80 Joseph H. Pavlak, 80, of Doylestown, a retired Western Electric manager and former chairman of the ty High School in Philadelphia. Father McCafferty was chaplain at St. Joseph's Manor in Meadowbrook from 1975 to 1990.

The retirement home is administered by the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer, a German religious order. He loved the patients, said Sister Martina Nick-laus, and loved conversing with the sisters in German. Since 1993, Father McCafferty had been chaplain of St. Mary's Manor in Lansdale. A native of the Frankford section of Philadelphia, Father McCafferty graduated from Northeast Catholic High School before entering St.

Charles Bor-romeo Seminary. He earned a bachelor's degree from the seminary; a master's degree in philosophy from Villanova University; and a doctorate in philosophy from Lateran University in Rome. For seven years after his ordination in 1961, Father McCafferty assisted pastors at St. Joseph Church in Collingdale, St. Francis DeSales Church in Lenni, and St.

Joseph Church in Ambler. He is survived by a sister, Ruth Dyer; a niece, Denise Dyer; and a nephew, Gene Dyer. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. today at the the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer Mother-house, 521 Moredon Huntingdon Valley, Pa. 19006.

MacCOY MARJORIE (nee Maguire), passed peacefully to her eternal reward on Sept. 9, 2004. Marjorie was the daughter of Irish immigrants (Thomas and Winifred), who instilled in her the virtues of faith and family. She graduated from St. Katharine of Siena High School in Wayne and found work at Bryn Mawr Hospital during the depths of the Great Depression.

Marjorie married Carroll MacCoy in 1947 and raised 6 children, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll and eldest son, Thomas; she is survived by her children, Stephen (Maureen), David, Meg DeLosso (Louis), James, and Jean Creaney (Sean); she is also survived by grandchildren, Maureen Mallon (Todd), Shawn (Tonya), Melissa Zale (Edward), David (Lois), Susan, Jessica, Monica, Cassie and Lisa; great grandchildren, Stephen, Sofia and Zachary. ENGELHARDT HARRIET (nee Gyllenhaal), died peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 8, 2004 of Huntingdon Valley, formerly of Gwynedd Valley. She was a vocal coach and accompanist at The Academy of Vocal Arts in Phila from 1941 to 1988; beloved wife of Edward L. Pavlak dent of Trevose be- fore moving to Doylestown in 1986. From 1966 to 1978 he was a Lower Southampton Township supervisor. For six years, Mr. Pavlak, a Democrat, was chairman of the Board of Supervisors, which had a Republican majority, his son Eric said. A native of the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, Mr.

Pavlak was a graduate of Northeast High School. During World War II, he served in the Navy as an electrician's mate aboard an attack carrier in the Pacific. In 1947, he was recalled to active duty to serve aboard the cruiser USS Rochester in the States. For 31 years, Mr. Pavlak worked for Western Electric, now Communications, and eventually was manager of the company's manufacturing facility in King of Prussia.

After retiring in 1977, he served on the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission and for more than 10 years he was the commission's maintenance supervisor. Mr. Pavlak is survived by sons Eric and Norman; daughters Jane Schran and Claudia; and a granddaughter. His wife of 53 years, Jane Zera Pavlak, died in 2001. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m.

Simmons Court officer, 59 Linda Palermo Simmons, 59, of Glen Mills, a Philadelphia Municipal Court officer for 20 years, died of a heart attack Monday at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. Mrs.

Simmons grew up in South Philadelphia. After graduating from St. Maria Goretti High School, she went Linda P. Simmons to work for J. Earl Simmons a Philadelphia lawyer.

The couple were married in 1966. While raising four children in Overbrook, she volunteered at her children's schools and was active in the mothers' clubs. In the 1970s Mrs. Simmons returned to work for her husband, who had been appointed a Municipal Court judge in 1969. After she and her husband retired in 1997, they moved to Haver-ford.

He died in 1999. Last year, she moved to Fox Hill Farm, a residential community in Glen Mills, where she served on social committees and was a member of the Red Hat Society, a women's group. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her father, Joseph Palermo; daughters Mary Beth Kufen and Heather; sons Daniel and Timothy; two sisters; and three grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 today at Our Lady of Lour-des Church, 6315 Lancaster Philadelphia.

Joseph F. McCafferty, 71, of Lansdale, an educator and nursing home chaplain, died of kidney cancer Saturday at the infirmary of the motherhouse of the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer in Huntingdon Valley. Father McCafferty taught philosophy and religious studies at Holy Family College, now University, Rev. Joseph McCafferty from 1975 until becoming ill last year. For the last 10 years, during Christmas break and in the summer, Father McCafferty, who was fluent in German, lectured in philosophy at the Gustav-Siewerth-Akademie in Bierbronnen, Germany.
