A native of Durham, he joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 and was a flight instructor at the University of Tennessee. In 1944 he joined Piper Aircraft as regional sales manager in the Washington, D.C., area.

He dealt primary with the military. In 1948 he joined Brown and Bigelow as southeastern manager based in Baltimore, and later in Key Biscayne, and Asheville. While in Asheville he was an active member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church. He.

and his wife retired to Black Mountain in 1979. He was an active member of St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Swannanoa where he was served as a lector and usher for several years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Latta; daughter, Jill Latta Bagwell of Asheville; three sons, Darnell Worth "Kim" Latta Jr. of Sherwood Forest, John Michael Latta of Jamestown, and Dr.

James Randall Latta of Manteo; and eight grandchildren. Private memorial services will be at a later date. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marjorie Robinson Robinson, 71, of Dix Creek 2, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, in a local hospital.

A native and longtime resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly employed by Broyhill Furniture and retired from Ethan Allen Furniture Co. She was the daughter of the late John and Dexter Hensley Lunsford. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ralph A. Robinson; daughter, Gayle Moore of Leicester; two sons, Pastor Wayne S. Robinson of Clyde and Ronald R.
