Public Radio Frequency Approved Vermont Roundup By ROY KNLTSEN Free Preti Stoff Wntr The Federal Communications Commission has approved a request by Vermont Public Radio to assign a frequency in the Burlington area for use in educational programming. The announcement came Friday at a press conference held at the Burlington-Radisson hotel by Vermont Public Radio President Ray Phillips and station manager Ray The new station's frequency would be 107.9 and have a power output of 34,000 watts. The Windsor station reaches about 30,000 people. Dilley said with the station in Burlington, "we could hope that this figure would double and then some." Ray Phillips, president of Vermont Public Radio, said, "This is part of a dream about to be realized.
