A certified or cashier's check in the amount or amounts as specified shall be submitted with proposal or proposals, as a guarantee that the bidder, if successful, will enter into contract and make bond in accordance with requirements of the specifications. The check to be made payable to the order of the State of Oklahoma, Department of Highways. This work will be done under the Oklahoma State Highway Commission's Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, edition of 1937, and under required contract provisions for work financed in whole or part with Federal' funds or special labor provisions if financed entirely with State funds.

Special provisions covering items of construction not covered by the Standard Specifications will accompany the proposal for the work. In case of any discrepancy between the Standard Specifications and the special provisions, the special provisions incorporated in the proposal will govern. The minimum wage required per hour for labbr employed on this project shall be as follows: Skilled, one dollar Intermediate Seventy-Five Cents Unskilled, Seventy-Five Cents. Bidders must familiarize themselves with the conditions and must bid with the understanding that full cooperation in carrying out the requirements of the specifications and special provisions will be expected. Proposals must be prepared as directed by the State Standard Specifications.

Plans, forms of proposals, contracts and specifications may be examined at the Division Engineer's office at Muskogee, Oklahoma, or at the Chief Engineer's office, Oklahoma City. However, no- definite plans have been made yet, but are expected to be made on Wednesday.

The closing is for the fall harvest. Labor Day has brought many Visitors here. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brandon were in a car wreck Thursday about 10.00 a.m., Brandon being very badly injured'.

The grade team was defeated Thursday by the high "school team, 12-2. Mr. and Mrs. Utah Jacobs were visitors at school Thursday, Mr. and Mrs.

Moore Lynn were visitors of Mr, and Mrs. Guy Brandon and family. Miss Billye Etchison was the guest last weekend of Miss Barbara Jean Jacobs. Opie Smith and Johnnie Smith and Darrel Howell, who are working in Kansas, are now home for a short visit. Mrs.

Earlene Johnson and her daughter were visitors at school Monday. Liz Been has returned to school after having a short visit with her sister last week. The typing students are working very hard this week to get their school paper finished. D. Ogden received a back injury Friday afternoon when the horse she was riding shied at a covey of quail. Capt. and Mrs. E.

E. Grose and children Alma Lynn and Joe of Lawtdn, were Sunday night guests of relatives here. Mrs. Dee Hadley' and son, Connie, spent several days in Eufaula as the guests of Mrs. Hadley's mother, Mrs.

Newport. Mrs. Fred Pratt arid sons, Jimmy and Billy, of Eufaula, spent Labor Day with Mr. and I Mrs. Charles Pinney.

Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Lee of I Mulberry, were last week guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Lee.

Evert and Edgar Grose spent Monday night in Vinita. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Grose took their son, Eddie, to Warner Sunday afternoon to report for football practice. Eddie will enroll at Connors college for' his freshman year, September 10.

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and daughter, Peggy, of Baxter Kansas, spent Labor Day weekend with Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr, Mrs. Richard Smith and Borriie Ott, who is working at the State Santitorium, Talihina, spent the weekend here with Mrs.

Ott and son, Bob. Miss Pat Grose had as her guest this week end, Miss Katherine Glover, from West of Eufaula. Capt. and Mrs. John Cleek of Wichita Falls, Texas were week end visitors of Mr.

and Mrs. Taylor Sizemore. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hehson and children and Bill Davis, Mr.
