The case escaped with the money, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and two revolvers, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents said. FBI agents in Portland, who announced the reward offer locally, said they believe Gerena is in the United States. He was described as a 5-foot-6, 160-pound man of Puerto Rican descent, with brown hair and green eyes. The reward provides for up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Gerena or any accomplices and up to $400,000 for rthe return of the stolen property, agents said.

They said this is the largest reward offered in U.S. history in connection with a single crime. involves Vic- victor gerena tor M. Gerena, 25, who allegedly held up two other guards Sept. 12 at the Wells Fargo Terminal in West Hartford, and perly in refusing to negotiate a meeting.

"We've had very few of these things so I don't think we've developed a standard procedure. But it's common sense that we would not go to meet with people in an escape situation like that." Corrections staff will review the incident to determine whether the facilities or procedures need to be modified to prevent similar escapes, he said. Morehead, who reportedly said he was making the call from Portland, said Roll cut his leg during the escape but did not require medical treatment, Hulbert said. The pair are considered dangerous and could be armed with knives, Hulbert said. They were returning silverware from dinner when they fled, he said.

Morehead and Roll were in the Corrections Treatment Program for mentally and emotionally disturbed inmates operated at the mental hospital by the Oregon State Correctional Institution. Morehead, who also used the name James Lee Kelly, was described as a 5-foot-5, 140-pound black man with brown eyes, black hair and a scar on his forehead. He was serving sentences for robbery and armed robbery from Multnomah County. Roll was serving a sentence for burglary from Lane County. He was described as a 6-foot, 160-pound white man with brown hair, blue yes and tat toes of a dagger, spider and shooting star on his left arm.

Two escaped convicts from the Oregon State Hospital remained at large Tuesday after a request they reportedly made by telephone to meet with state corrections staff was rejected. Floyd R. Morehead and Robert Roll both 23, scaled two 15-foot fences topped with razor wire and escaped shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, authorities reported. About 10:45 p.m., Morehead phoned the hospital and asked to meet with someone from the corrections treatment program there, hospital spokesman Don Hulbert said.

Personnel at the hospital denied the request, however, and told Morehead the two men should turn themselves in to police, Hulbert said. Hulbert said the staff acted pro By RON COWAN 01 the Slatesman-Journal Greater Willamette Vision operator of Salem television station KECH, Channel 22, has filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11, according to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The petition, filed in Portland federal court, seeks permission to continue to operate while the company is paying off creditors. According to the petition, the company had assets of $4,101,843 and liabilities of $4,173,007, as of July 31.

Patrick H. Jensen, a Portland attorney representing Greater Willamette, said the action was precipitated by two lawsuits filed in Marion County Circuit Court recently seeking allegedly unpaid debts of more than $620,000 from KECH. Jensen said his client had to file to stay in operation. Court action is not likely for three to four weeks, he said, but there is no intention to cease operation of KECH. "The partnership is trying to stay in business at this point." KECH, a two-year-old UHF channel, was put on the market for an asking price of about $8 million in August.

According to Jensen, there are no purchase offers currently in negotiation, to his knowledge. The bankruptcy petition was filed by the general partners iti the station, Arnold Brustin and Christopher Desmond, doing business as Vision on behalf of the limited partnership, Greater Willamette, which consists of a number of investors. Brustin and Desmond are also involved in Willamette Subscription Television Servce owner of ON-TV in Portland. That firm is currently undergoing involuntary bankruptcy in federal court. Desmond, on court order, is developing a debt repayment plan.

Court documents in that case show Willamette Subscription owing its 20 major creditors a total of $4,786,067. Under a contractual arrangement, ON-TV takes over the signal of KECH in the evenings. King's brother, Robert, 18, same address, pleaded innocent to the burglary charges Tuesday, and his cases were continued for trial.
