age 78, died peacefully from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in his home on April 22, 2015. III (Mary); four grandchildren, nine siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of extended family and treasured friends. "Bunky" was a South Street Pioneer (he opened the Custom Frame Shop Gallery in 1969) and a Photographer to Philadelphia's Jazz greats for over twenty-five years. In recognition of his love for Jazz and the Queen Village neighborhood of his home and business, contributions to the Settlement Music School at 416 Queen Street will honor him and keep his memory alive.

Born in Philadelphia, Bill Masland, known as "Doc" attended the William Penn Charter School, Haverford College, and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He served as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Physiology at Penn before joining Neurological Associates in Tucson, 1971. In 1985, he became Medical Director of the O'Rielly Care Center, St. Joseph's Hospital drug and alcoholism treatment facility.

Since 2000, he worked in Yuma, AZ as a neurologist and pain specialist. He served on the Board of Directors of the Association for Drug Abuse and Alcoholism, the Epilepsy Society of Southern Arizona, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, and the Housing Authority of the City of Yuma (HACY), and was also a strong advocate for the mentally He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 59 years; his daughter, Ethel (Ellie) Wolcott (Peter); grandchildren Elisa, Lena, Clara Wolcott and James Masland; his brother, James G. Masland, Jr. (Michelle), cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Masland.

With intelligence, good humor, and sound advice, he inspired and mentored students and family members. He treated life as a grand adventure.
