GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS FEJERDY BUDAI DE KIDE 2004 Estate of Pablo Picasso Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York COUNTESS ZORANA ROMANA FEJERDY BUDAI DE KIDE, of Philadelphia, died after a long illness and her ashes will be scattered in the Adriatic Sea near the coast of Slovenia. Countess Zorana lived a full and amazing life.

As a courageous young writer, Mussolini arrested her for translating a book forbidden by Hitler. After the Axis surrender, she continued to live in Rome, but traveled frequently throughout Europe while founding her own press agency serving Italian newspapers. Many of the dispatches were authored by the Countess herself. Zorana's friendship with Pablo Picasso was well known, and it was the artist who nicknamed her "Madame After relocating to the United States in the 60s, she hosted a popular radio program, "Luncheon with Countess Later she opened the Zodiac Gallery in Narberth, displaying her extensive and eclectic collection of European paintings and ceramics. Countess Zorana was a great patron of the arts and along with her many philanthropic activities, she founded two non-profit cultural organizations: the Foundation for International Cultural Exchange and the Universal Society for the Arts.

She is survived by her son, Riccardo-Zoran Balmas Budai de Kide, of Philadelphia. A Memorial Service and Mass will be held on the anniversary of her birthday, February 27, 2004 at 10 A.M. at St. Matthias Church, Bryn Mawr and Highland Avenues, Bala Cynwyd. MclLVAINE FUNERAL HOME, East Falls JANSON I JANE JANSON, 88, of Chestnut Hill; wife of Joseph W. Janson, died Friday Feb. 20, 2004 at Chestnut Hill Hospital after a short illness. A native of Kansas City, MO, and a graduate of the University of Kansas, she was a retired journalist who was writer for The Vendo Company of Kansas City during the 1950s and 1960s. During her career she was active in Women in Communications.

After her retirement and her marriage in 1975 to Joseph Janson, she and her husband restored an 1838 house in Lee's Summit, MO, which they christened The Chimneys. She and her husband also collaborated in writing a cookbook, Travel Your Taste, which was published in 1978. They moved to Chestnut Hill in 1997. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Steele of Philadelphia; a stepson, Gilbert Janson of Chicago; two stepdaughters, Laura Foote and Jennifer Fuller of Atlanta; five grandchildren; and two great granddaughters.
