He received the Presidential Citation, Purple Heart, five Bronze Stars, Victory Medal and the Verdam Ribbon. He was employed by Cigna Corporation for many years and was currently working at IDP, Wyncote, PA. Larry loved all of the Philadelphia Sports Teams and also enjoyed swimming on a daily basis. He was President of the Bishop Grimes High School Booster Club in East Syracuse, NY and was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was dedicated to his wife and children.

ASSOCIATED PRESS Fashion photographer Francesco Scavullo, 82, who shot covers for Cosmopolitan magazine for more than 30 years, died yesterday in New York of heart failure, his companion said. Known for works ranging from photo silkscreens to portraits of such celeb-rities as Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Tay- lor, Gloria Vanderbilt, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Mick Newman and Francesco Scavullo in '83. Jagger, Paul Joanne Woodward, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. He also was recognized for his photographs of children. One of the most famous was his 1975 portrait of a young Brooke Shields.

Sean Byrnes said his partner's work was guided by love of beautya theme Mr. Scavullo himself cited in a 1985 interview. "I have a passion for taking pictures of beautiful women," he said. "I was fascinated when my mother got done up. My mother made the transformation to Cinderella every day of her life." Born Jan.

16, 1921, on Staten Island, Mr. Scavullo was one of five children whose father owned the old Central Park Casino. As a youth he got a job assisting the fashion photographer Horst and learned much of the craft from him. He later worked for Vogue and Seventeen magazines before launching a lucrative and lengthy career that included photographing covers for Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar and other magazines. At the peak of his career he commanded as much as $10,000 a sitting.

"He was one of the most generous people I ever met in my life," Byrnes said. "He helped a lot of needy people and never mentioned it."
