On Tuesday, Fox29 announced that it was parting ways, effective immediately, with weatherman-about-town John Bo The relationship between the storm-seer and the station, which had grown frosty during his four-year tenure, hit the freezing point just before Christmas when a Playboy article appeared, recounting his adventures in Florida in 2010 with a couple of fun-loving ladies who drugged him, then scammed him for $43,000. The station suspended him idefinitely on Dec. 22. As is often the case with a nasty breakup, both sides were terse.

A Fox29 representative said simply, "We mutually agreed that it was time to part ways." Reached by phone Tuesday afternoon, Bolaris, Szl, said, "I can't comment on that. You need to speak to my agent." Bolaris' agent, Richard Lamer, of the powerful New York agency N.S. Bienstock, was not inclined to elaborate during a brief phone conversation. "The statement is as clear as can be. Nobody said he was fired.

The statement is very, very simple: We mutually agreed it was time to part ways." Like most TV personalities, Bolaris has led a nomadic existence. His longest stint, 13 years, was at NBC10, which he joined when it was still a CBS affiliate. He also had two tours at WCBS in New York. Bolaris brought an air of boyish glamour to weather watching. Over the years, his love life made him a frequent presence on the gossip pages.
