He reported initial signup seems adequate to proceed with the system. THE DIRECTORS have authorized the chairman to make a formal request to the Farmers Home Administration for obligation of funds to construct the system. Earlier FHA approved the project subject to sufficient number of signups of water uses to make the "system capable of paying off the loan." 'Payment is by the water users through their monthly bills.

Hobson said a $12 minimum has been determined necessary with water rates established on a scale for additional quantities to be determined. The cutoff date ending the original $300 hookup fee has now been set for July 1, Hobson said. While a new hookup fee has not yet been determined, the board members said it would probably follow the schedule of other domestic water cooperatives that have approximately doubled after the initial signup. He explained this will be necessary to assure adequate funds for redesigning original systems to accommodate additional users as a change from the engineering plan. IN ORDER to get the system under way as quickly as possible, right of way easements will be gathered soon so construction may be started in late summer.

Water for the approximately 275 users will come from a newly drilled well near the Brush College Grange Hall. This well has already been tested to sus- tain pumping of more than 180 gallons per minute which will, engineers have figured, provide an average of about 1,000 gallons per family per day. Hobson said this is about three times the current usage in the Luckia-mute Domestic Water System. Water quality tests on the well show no iron problem and that no chloridation will be needed at the present. i A' By LIU.IE MADSEN Farm Editor, The Statesman PERRYDALE Success is practically assured Perry-dale, BaUston and Salt Lake Creek communities in their goal, set more than a year ago, for an adequate water supply.
