"There's a practical reason for the crown being gold," Miss Messer explained. "It's actually a dental gold, alloyed with platinum and paladium. It's about the strongest substance used by dentists right now. We don't really know what will withstand a dog chewing on a bone." The crown was installed by a dentist with the help of a veterinarian.
