fret Section 2 Chicago Tribune, Tuesday, August 27, 1974 Obituaries Reuben E. Hedlund Services for Reuben E. Hedlund, 75, editor and publisher of the trade publication, This Week in Tires, will be held Thursday in Hawkinsville, Ga. Mr. Hedlund died Sunday in Wesley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hedlund, of 1550 Lake Shore was general manager of the Chicago Tire Dealers Association for the last 25 years. Survivors include a daughter, Karen; a son, Reuben whose wife Marilou is 48th Ward alderman; and two grandchildren. Joseph L. Rose Joseph L.

Rose, retired assistant to the city manager of Evanston, died yesterday in Evanston Hospital. Mr. Rose, 78, of 1585 Ridge Evanston, was a also director of public works for the city from 1941- 1953. Survivors are two sons, Leonard J. and Richard two daughters, Mrs.

Margaret Cook and Mrs. Patricia Gillam; 18 grandchildren; a greatgrandchild; and a brother. Mass will be said at 10 a. m. tomorrow in St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Oak Avenue and Lake Street, Evanston. Milton S. Mayerson Services for Milton S. Mayerson, a retired salesman for Aristo-Mat manufacturers of housewares, 7 S. Dearborn will be held at 1 p.

m. today in the chapel at 5602 N. Broadway. Mr. Mayerson, 69, of 5100 N.

Marine died Sunday in Weiss Memorial Hospital. He worked for the company 35 years. Mr. Mayerson is survived by his widow, Betty; a son, Alan; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Renee Teven; two grandchildren; and two sisters.

Thomas E. Hadac Services for Thomas E. Hadac, a retired salesman for Graybar Electrical Melrose Park, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in Brookfield United Methodist Church, 3541 Park Brookfield.

Mr. Hadac, 69, of 3330 Sunnyside Brookfield, died Sunday in Hinsdale Hospital. He had been employed by the electrical firm for 44 years. Survivors are his widow, Agnes; a son, Thomas and two brothers. Rev.

John S. Mysliwiec Mass for the Rev. John S. Mysliwiec, superior of the priests at St. Hedwig Parish, 2226 N.

Hoyne will be said at 2 p. m. tomorrow in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Father Mysliwiec, 62, died Saturday in the Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines.

He was a member of the Provincial Council of the Chicago Province of the Resurrection of Fathers from 1970 to 1973. Albert C. Wood Sr. Mass for Albert C. Wood a retired Chicago policeman, will be said at 9 a.

m. today in Houston. Mr. Wood, 65, formerly of Chicago, died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston. He had been a resident of McAllen, for the last six years.

Surviving is his widow, Margaret. 282,000 Fords are recalled DETROIT, Aug. 26 Ford Motor Co. today said it is recalling 282,000 of its 1973 and 1974 model cars to replace a part in the emission control system that may fail after extended use. It is not known how many car owners will respond to the Ford recall, since a malfunction in the antipollution equipment could actually improve fuel economy.

Ford said the part in question is the ported vacuum switch valve in the exhaust gas recirculation system. Malfunction of the valve could allow high amounts of nitrogen oxides to be emitted. Vehicles affected are 1973 and early 1974 Maverick, Comet, Torino, Montego, Mustang, and Ranchero models with either the 250-cubic inch or 200-cubic inch engines and with automatic transmissions.
