Teamster Agent Will Fight Tax PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -A Teamsters Union business agent said Thursday that he'll fight an expected school tax measure unless the Portland school board settles a dispute with its employes. Jack Lester of Teamsters Union Local 206 accused negotiators for the board of having "locked out" negotiators for some 3,500 teachers and 2,200 craft workers. Lester spoke at a news conference. He was accompanied by the top negotiator for the school teachers, Vincent Russell of Washington, D.C.

Craft workers are ready to live within federal wage guidelines but are concerned with establishment of a health trust fund, seniority and grievance procedures, Lester said. Recommendations in the dispute are due April 1 from Paul Kleinsorge, the University of Oregon economics professor who has been named as factfinder under state law. TIRED of feeling tired?
