Jacob presented for paving half of the street for two from First to Third West.

According to his figures, the job would cost about $5,020 and would include curb and gutter worlc. This figure would be split by the state, the city and the property owners, if the state wffl act on that kind of a proposition. Mr. Jacob is presenting the project before the state road commission today. Two other propositions were discussed by the commision and the committee from the property owners.

First, the city would put up 50 percent of the cost if the owners would supply the rest. Then, the city offered to put in the paving and allow the WPA the work on the gutter if the owners would put up the cost of the materials for the gutter. This would amount to about 75 cents a lineal foot for the owners. Another meeting next Tuesday will be held to discuss further plans when the state commissioner is heard from. The old problem of the window blinds was finally settled to the extent that the schools will not be equipped with blinds at tbe beginning of the school year. After seeing samples, and getting prices on all kinds of blinds, the board decided that until the new revenue for the schools is determined, the purchase had better not be made. Extra costs in moving into the new buildings was given as tbe reason for the necessity for economy.
