Obituaries Mrs. Amelia Davis s- Amelia M. Davis, 66, of RD 4 New Philadelphia (Goshen) dead on arriva Monday at Union Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. rtah re dent Goshen she was a daughter of Isaac F. and Mariam Jones Hill.

Her husband, John, died in 1949. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, John H. of Goshen, Franklin of Mt. Clemens and Mrs. Thomas Nutt of Salmon, nine grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs.

Eva Lute, Mrs. Esther Haney and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Snyder of Goshen and Mrs. Grace Shumacher of Canton Three brothers are deceased. Services will be Thursday at 2 in Meese-Bierie Funeral Home at Dover where friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Rev. Kenneth Shaffer of the Assembly God Church in New Philadelphia will officiate and burial will be in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery, William Geltz William L. Geltz, 83, a native of Dover, died Monday in the Soldiers and Sailors Home at Sandusky where he had resided 17 years. Until becoming ill several years ago he was the gardener there. He was a retired mechanic for the Garage-on-the-Square in Dover and was a member of Dover American Legion Post.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Jane Whimpey Geltz, and three brothers and a sister. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Neala) Andreas of Dover and Mrs. Anna Ek of Chico, Calif. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The American Legion will conduct graveside services. Steven Krantz Steven Krantz, 22, of Holly, son of James H. and Jean Poletti Krantz, formerly of Dover and New Philadelphia, died last Tuesday. Services and interment were Friday in Holly.

Steven was a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Krantz of RD 3, Dover, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Poletti of Mount Rose, formerly of New Philadelphia.

He is survived by four brothers and three sisters. A twin sister preceded him in death. James Edie Services for James Edie, 29, of RD 4, New Philadelphia, who was killed Saturday when he fell from a drilling rig near Alliance, were to be today with interment in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville. The name of a brother, Jerry Lee of Goshen, was unintentionally omitted in the obituary published Monday. George Tate Nieces and nephews in New Philadelphia and Dover have received word of the death May 22 of George Tate, 72, of Woodland, 111.

Tate, a resident of New Philadelphia until 1949, is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Steve (Betty) Bartish of Painesville, Billy Tate of Virginia and Charles of Florida; 16 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Services and interment were in Illinois. Lloyd N.Riggs CADIZ Word has been received here of the death of Lloyd N. Riggs, 57, a for- mer resident of New Philadelphia and here, who died Monday at Edan Manor Rest Home in Sabina, Ohio after a long illness.

Born here, he was a son of the late Robert B. and Anna Creswell Riggs. His wife, Josephine, died on Feb. 2. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.

Ty (Lillie Rae) Wical of Franklin; a brother and two sisters, George E. Riggs of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Rager and Mrs. Dwaine (Rosemary) Heidy of Scio; a half-brother, Rex Morgan Jr. of here, and one granddaughter.

A sister preceded him in death. Services are pending at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina. Clarence Timmons COSHOCTON Clarence Timmons, 65, of 933 Pine st. died Monday in Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in luka, a son of the late Daniel and Magnolia Evans Timmons, he was a coal miner for 35 years before retiring, the last 12 years at Mason Coal Co.

at Otsego. He was a member of the Eagles and a life member of the Moose. Surviving are his widow, Mary Nelson Timmons; two brothers and two sisters, Ruth, Christina, and Roy, all of here, and Ulyss of RD 3, Warsaw, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Given Funeral Home with Rev.

Herbert Bundy of the Warner and Tyndal United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday until 1p.m. Virgil Hankins CANTON Virgil Hankins, 69, formerly of Coshocton County and here, died Saturday in Hollywood, where he resided six years. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Surviving are his widow, Audree; three daughters, seven grandchildren, and two brothers including Curtis King of Byesville. George Closson MAGNOLIA George Closson, 78, of 130 S. Main st.

died this morning in his residence after a long illness. Born in Middleport, N.Y., a son of Fred and Hattie Leonard Closson, he moved here in 1947 from Newport News, Va. He was a former chief deputy U. S. marshal and after moving here managed the Joseph Weaver Hardware Co.

in Canton until retiring in 1960. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church here and Stanley Bowman American Legion Post at North Industry and was a World War I veteran. Surviving are his widow, Edna Mae, and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. John (Leatha) Benfer of here, Mrs. Edith Coley of Hampton, and Leonard Closson of Akron.

Rev. R. Keith Hammer will officiate at services Thursday at 1:30 in McCreery-Finefrock Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Ray Latham COSHOCTON Ray Latham, 59, of RD 1 died Monday in Good Samaritan Medical Center at Zanesville after a long illness.

Born here, the son of the late Raymond and Effie Bodenheimer Latham he was a former manager of Hales Service station. He later owned and operated the Sunoco Station and since 1956 was a foreman at Pretty Products Co. Surviving are his widow, Helen Abbott, and two sisters, Mrs. Norbert (Helen) Clark of Akron and Iris Latham of Fort Wayne, Ind. Two brothers are deceased.

Private graveside services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Coshocton Memory Gardens with Rev. Ronald L. Rearic of Park Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Free Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Samuell Grimmett COSHOCTON Samuell Grimmett, 77, of 436 N. 9th st. was dead on arrival today at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Warrior, he was a son of the late Henry and Emma Grimmett.

He was employed by the D.I. Miller Co. of here for 40 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Sarasota, Fla. Surviving are his widow, Reathel Anderson Grimmett; a son, Timothy E. of the home; a sister and two brothers, Annadell, Wilson and Frank Slaughter, all of Chicago, and three grandchildren.

Four sisters are deceased. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Oscar Clovis CANTON Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in J. L. Arnold and Sons Funeral Home for Dr. Oscar R.

Clovis, 81, of 3810 N. Market av. who died Sunday in Aultman Hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be in Northlawn Cemetery.

A former physician for Ringling Bros. Circus, he also served as a physician and surgeon of the staffs at Aultman and Mercy Hospitals and continued a limited practice until the time of his death. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club, Masonic bodies and American Legion. He and his wife, Bess, who survives, resided in a stone house which they designed and which was built from stones from the dismantled Falls House built in 1819 between Beach City and Strasburg. Other survivors are, a daughter, son and two sisters.

Naomi Carpenter WARSAW Graveside services were to be conducted today in Valley View Cemetery for Naomi June Carpenter who was stillborn Sunday in Coshocton Memorial Hospital. Surviving are the parents, Rev. William and Naomi Allison Carpenter of RD a brother, William IV of the home, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Carpenter Jr.

Fischer Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mrs, Clara Amos Mrs. Clara Amos, 89, a life resident of the area, died Monday in Twin City Hospital at Dennison. She was a member of Scio United Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Oliver died in 1967.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Harold of Somerton, Jack of here, Hubert of Las Vegas and Mrs. Kenneth (Agnes) Timmons of Barnesville, and eight grandchildren.
