Lorris M. Wimberly, speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives will formally dedicate to the cause of education in this state, Leche Tech's magnificent administration building. Governor Richard Leche, under whose administration! the building was erected, and in whose honor the structure i is named, will be among those who pause this afternoon to i reflect upon the noblest of of education. Synonomoua with American progress is education. Prom the "little red school to the halls of the greatest universities in the nation, there has been a unity of action and of purpose.

It has carried the United States from a meagre beginning to the mightiest nation on earth in the comparatively short time of 150 years. Here, where Democracy has proven itself against the hazards of all critics, education has brought to the front some of the world's greatest personalities. Where, throughout the world, would Abraham Lincoln Andrew Jackson or countless others have ever been given an opportunity to develop their brilliant minds? Louisiana, young as far as statehood is concerned, has advanced further in recent years in educational progress than any state in the Union. What has resulted is an excellent preview of great attainments that are in prospect for the future. In this state at present, there isn't a child who is denied an opportunity to place himself on an equal basis with any man in the nation.

Regardless of financial, or geographical conditions, from the back-woods hills of North Louisiana to the darkest swamp cabin in the "Cajun the boy or. girl who wants an education now has full opportunity to get it. The dedication of Leche Hall today, Is only a continuance of Louisiana's policy of giving an education to every person who wants it. We feel that it is only a preview of the accomplishments that can be expected as long as such men as Governor Leche, Mr. Wirnberly, Mr.

Richardson, and their associates who are directing the course of our state are continued at the helm. ra MADE-WOT EOCM. for the Pariah of Lincoln, said State, on this the 28th day of May, A. 1837. (SEAL) ROSS C.
