and Mrs. Simon Pool of Tippecanoe, to Lee Weyandt, son of Mrs. Mary Weyandt of Chicago, 111., and Alvin Weyandt of Altoona, was solemnized Aug. 7 in the Tippecanoe Methodist Church. Rev.

James Spencer performed the 2:30 p.m. double ring ceremony. The bride wore a street-length white dress which had a skirt of chiffon over satin. Her accessories were white and her corsage was of red roses. Miss Fern Pool of New Philadelphia was maid of honor for her sister.

Carl McGuire of Uhrichsville served as best man. The bride, a graduate of Freeport High, is employed. with the General Telephone Company of Ohio, New Philadelphia. Mr. Weyandt, a graduate of Uhrichsville High, is an employe of the Universal Pipe Co.

of Uhrichsville. They are residing at 446Vj Ray New Philadelphia. Mrs. Bill Winzer Feted At Shower A baby shower was held recently for Mrs. Bill Winzer of Minerva.

The party was held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Berle Smith of 1613 Cross St. with Miss Jo Ann Capozella as hostess. Guests at the shower were the Misses Ginny Lewis, Janice Jerome, Nancy Neumeyer, Becky Contini, Chris Tedesco, Kay Incarnato, Ariene Crooks, Judy Weigand and Barbara Held of Dover, Barbara Uptegraph, Margaret Armstrong and Carol Dus- cini of New Philadelphia and Mary Jo Boniey of West Virginia.

Prizes were won by the Misses Armstrong, Uptegraph, Miss Lewis and Miss Neumeyer. In a wedding taking place Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Philadelphia, Rebecca Sue Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.

F. Tucker Jr. of 681 Orchard Ave. NW, became the bride of James B. Watson, son of Mr.

and Mrs. James R. Watson of 303 Commercial Ave. SE, all of New Philadelphia. Rev.

James N. Fisher, performed the double ring marriage ceremony and Mr. Tucker gave his daughter in marriage. Preceding the exchange of vows, a half hour of nuptial music was provided by Miss Vikki Graff, organist, and Mrs. John Roll, vocal soloist.

The altar was graced with bouquets of white flowers including gladioli, chrysanthemums and carnations. Two seven-branched candelabra and palms were at the sides. The chancel setting was completed with 2 standards of white gladioli, chrysanthemums, carnations and palms. Clusters of Oregon huckleberry foliage were tied with white satin ribbons to mark the pews. The bride wore a white floor- length gown fashioned of re-embroidered tulle over taffeta and styled with cap sleeves, a bateau neckline and a fitted bodice with a dropped waistline.

The bouffant skirt featured a tiered chapel train. Her veil of imported French illusion was caught to a cap of pleated tulle and she carried a white Bible topped with a cascade arrangement of pink Sweetheart roses, white carnations and ivy centered with a cluster of pink Sweetheart roses. The Bible was a gift from the bridegroom. She also carried a sheer white linen handkerchief edged with wide lace and this belonged to her grandmother, Mrs. J.

F. Tucker Sr. Miss Sandy Kennedy of Lisbon, a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs. James Roll, a sister of the bridegroom, and Miss DeAnna Polka, both of New Philadelphia, served as bridesmaids.

Their ballerina length gowns of identical styling were of aqua silk organza with pleated Sabrina necklines, full skirts, self flowers and interesting back detail. Triple bows of aqua organza held their circular face veils and they carried cascade bouquets of pink Sweetheart roses intermingled with stephanotis and ivy. Their single strand pearl bracelets were gifts from the bride. Serving Mr. Watson as best man was his brother in law, James Roll of New Philadelphia.

Ushers were John Tucker III, brother of the bride; Davis Seabrook and Jerry Wemple, all of New Philadelphia, and Dick Taylor of Zanesville. Mrs. Tucker, the bride's mother, wore a beige sheath dress of embroidered silk organza with beige accessories. Her flowers were Orange Delight roses and Baker fern. Mrs.

Watson, the bridegroom's mother, was attired in an azure blue pure silk sheath dress designed with three- quarter length sleeves and a scoop neckline. Her accessories were white and her corsage was of pink Briarcliff roses and Baker fern. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the social hall of the church. Presiding at the reception were Miss Connie Tucker of Cleveland and Miss Judy Bichsel of Salem, cousins of the bride. Miss Cathy Herman of Dover was in charge of the guest book.

The bride is a 1959 graduate of New Philadelphia High and, for rhe past year, has been an em- ploye of The Ohio Savings and Trust Co. in New Philadelphia. Mr. Watson was graduated in 1958 by New Philadelphia High and will be a junior this year at Muskingum College, New Concord, where he is majoring in mathematics. Saturday evening Mr.

and Mrs. Watson, the bridegroom's parents, entertained 22 guests at the rehearsal dinner at Hotel Reeves. Reliable Rebekahs Set Rummage Sale A rummage sale was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30, in IOOF Hall when members of the Reliable Rebekah Lodge met there last night. Vice Grand Mrs.

Charles Hanninger presided, Mrs. Arthur Notter and Mrs. Charles Stephen, 2 members who are hospitalized, were reported as improving. The mystery box went to Mrs. Leroy Crites.

Games were played and lunch was served by Mrs. Norman Godfrey and her committee. The next meeting will be Sept. 13 with Mrs. Glen Camp as chairman.

Raymond Miller of 111 West Fairview, Johnson City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joyce, to Jesse Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elliott, 1915 East 64th Indianapolis formerly of New Philadelphia. Ham, coffee and a cold beverage will be provided. UNO Mrs. Mike Zuckerman of Dover was a guest when Mrs. Jack Rlckel of 730 Ackey St. NW, New Philadelphia, entertained members of the UNO Club.

Bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Delbert Boal and Mrs. Zuckerman of Dover and Mrs. William hinlg of New Philadelphia. Mrs.

Hinig of 835 Hardesty Ave. NW, Philadelphia will be hostess Sept. 8. Jolly 20 Merrtbers of the Jolly Twenty Club held their annual picnic at Tuscora Park. A short business session was conducted by the president, Mrs.

Andrew Watson. A special contest prize went to Mrs. Minnie Gotttge. The next meeting will be Sept. 19.

Vaughan of 864 E. High Ave. New Philadelphia, to Robert Nelson Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. George N.

Miller of 1036 5th St. NW, New Philadelphia, was solemnized Saturday morning in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. A.

L. Freund, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony with the Mass beginning at, 11 a.m. Two bouquets of white gladioli adorned the altar. Serving the Mass were the bride's brothers, James and Patrick Vaughan. Mrs.

Andrew Yosick of New Philadelphia, church organist, played the accompaniment for the Seventh and Eighth Grade Choir, The bride's princess style wedding gown was in ballerina length of exquisitely embroidered silk organza. The square neckline and brief sleeves were scalloped. An ovcrskirt also was edged with scalloping and the waistline had a large bow in the back. The bridal veil of illusion was caught to a pearl-trimmed tiara and the bride's only jewelry was pearl earrings. She carried a white satin covered missal topped with an arrangement of white roses and stephanotis.

The maid of honor, Miss Connie K. Kuhlman of Quincy, 111., was gowned in pink dress had a rounded collar and puffed sleeves. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink Sweetheart roses and white carnations. Mrs. Gary Hess and Miss Annette Vaughan, sisters of the bride, served as bridesmaids.

Their dresses were of blue cotton lace over satin and were worn with blue satin cummerbunds and blue veils caught to blue satin headbands. Their bouquets were like that of the maid of honor. Serving as best man was James Davidson of Dover, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Ushering were Larry Wood and Timothy Hurst, both of New Philadelphia. The bride's mother was attired in a charcoal grey dress which had a white cowl collar.

The bridegroom's mother wore a dress of dark green print against Surprise Shower Held In Sugarcreek A surprise baby shower was held recently at the Marvin Hosteller home in Sugarcreek in honor of Mrs. Dawn Lahm. Mrs. Dorothy Schrock and Miss Sonja Hostetler were hostesses and they were assisted in serving refreshments by Miss Sally Mason of Dover. A mint and yellow color scheme was carried out and an old fashioned cradle held the gifts.

Safety pin storks were favors and small napkinfi were folded and pinned to resemble diapers. Guests were: Mrs. Joan Lingler, Mrs. Kaye Jones, Mrs. Barbara Ford, Mrs.

Eileen Blauch, Mrs. Teresa Blauch, Mrs. Jean Espenschied, Mrs. Earl Lahm, Mrs. Marvin Hostetler, Mrs.

Ruth Klein, Miss Bernice Hostetler, Mrs. Bertie Showers and Mrs. Miriam Maust of Sugarcreek; Mrs. Lillian Horriscrger of Beach City; Mrs. Wilma Mason, Miss Sally Mason, Mrs.

Dorothy Brietenstein and Mrs. Barbara Mason of Dover and Mrs. Faye Troyer of Walnut Creek. Prizes at games were presented to the guest of honor. MIDV4LE FESTIVAL SET Sponsored by the Adult Bible Class, a lawn festival will be held tonight at the Midvale Methodist Church.

Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and all donations to fee by 4 an orange background. Both had corsages of Orange Delight roses. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at 1532 Tremont Dover. Centering the buffet table was the wedding cake-and at either side were lighted candles.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller will reside at 478 N. Broadway, New Philadelphia, after a wedding trip. A 1958 graduate of Cotter High in Winona, the bride attended Winona Secretarial School and is employed as a bookkeeper at the Ohio Savings Trust New Philadelphia.

Mr. Miller was graduated in 1958 by New Philadelphia High and is employed with Warner Swasey. Dorothy Weinman Honored At Party Miss Dorothy Weinman of Strasburg, bride-elect of James Bishop of Louisville, was recently honored at a linen shower in the home of Mrs. John Lab of Strasburg. Assistant hostesses were Miss Clara Lab, Mrs.

Mrs. Donald Riggenbach, who has been residing at 316 E. llth Dover, will leave airport tomorrow for Oakland, Calif. From there she will continue her journey by plane to the Phillipine Islands, where she will join her husband, who is stationed with the Air Force at Clark Air Base, near Manilla, for a 2 year tour of duty. LARRY D. WILSON Ensley-Wilson Vows Solemnized Here White gladioli decorated the altar before which Dorothy Eileen Ensley and Larry D. Wilson exchanged marriage vows July 23 in the Dover Baptist Temple. The bride, a daughter of Mrs. Luella Marty of 242 4th St.

SW, New Philadelphia, was given in marriage by her brother, Kenneth Ensley, of New Philadelphia. Mr. Wilson's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Wilson of 118 Crater Dover.

Rev. Kenneth Taylor performed the single ring marriage ceremony preceding which Howard Hill sang two solos with Mrs. Dean Davidson of Dover as his accompanist. A street-length dress of light blue lace and nylon was worn with white accessories by the bride. Her earrings were blue and she carried a white Bible topped with white carnations.

Mrs. Loudine Mix of Hazel Park, a sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Her street-length dress was of pink nylon; her accessories were pink and she carried a bouquet of white carnations. toast maa tot Hefner of Dover. Ushers were Robert Collins of RD 2, New Philadelphia, a brother in law of the bridegroom, and Ronald Manley of Wadsworth.

The bride's mother wore a street-length dress of white nylon with white accessories. The bridegroom's mother used white accessories with her navy blue suit. Both had corsages of white carnations. Following the ceremony, a reception for 100 guests was held at the Moose Home in New Philadelphia. The 5-tiered wedding cake had been baked by Mrs.

Marie Sullivan of New Philadelphia. Friday night preceding the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was given at the Wilson home here. The couple is now residing with the bride's mother at 243 4th St. SW, New Philadelphia. A 1956 graduate of New Philadelphia High, the bride is ployed in the laundry at Union Hospital Mr.

in Sharon Moravian Church, near Tuscarawas, by Miss Margaret Wilson and James G'ribble. The bride, a daughter of R. M. Wilson of RD 4, New Philadelphia, is a graduate of Tuscarawas High and attended Kent State University. She has been employed in the New Philadelphia School system.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gribble of 133 17th NE, New Philadelphia, Mr. Gribble was graduated from New Philadelphia High and was an honor student at Devry Technical Institute in Chicago. He has accepted a position with Convair of San Diego, which city the couple will reside.

For the wedding, the church altar setting included a'bouquet of white pompons and pink carnations, together with palms and four candelabra. Mrs. Richard Ronald was organist and Mrs. Robert Wilson, a sister-in-law of the bride, was vocal soloist. The bride's white gown of nylon lace over satin was designed with cap sleeves and a white satin bow at the front waistline from 'which streamers fell to the hemline.

She carried white roses and white carnations atop a white Bible which was a gift from the bridegroom. Wearing a pink dress with white lace trim, styled similarly to that of the bride was Miss June Frautschy of RD 1, Dover, who served as maid of honor. Pink carnations and pink Sweetheart roses made up her bouquet. William Carpenter served as best man and ushers were Robert Wilson, a brother of the bride; William Dessecker, her William Ress and Tim Bichsel, all of New Philadelphia. The bridegroom's mother wore a beige dress with beige accessories for the wedding.

An alumnus of McKinley High in Canton, Mr. Kern served 2 years in the U. S. Army. He is employed by Republic Steel Corporation in Canton.

The couple is planning a late Fall wedding. P.T.A. News St. Joseph's PTA Executive Board members met this week with the new pastor, Rev. Fr.

Bertrand Brookman, to discuss plans for the ensuing school year and outline the programs. The first PTA meeting will be Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium. It will be "Meet the Faculty" Night and a special welcome is extended to all new members and to parents of 1st and 9th graders.
