Larry Huffman, Mrs. Ernest Gantt and Mrs. Tim Hagan. (Darrell Phillips Photo) Miss Lynne Workes and Mike Hammett were united in marriage in a candlelight ceremony performed Saturday night, Jan. 18 at the Farber Baptist Church.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bob Hoehn, Baptist minister Miss Missouri 1975 To Crown MMA Queen Miss Michelle Marshall, Miss Missouri of 1975, will be in Mexico to crown the Valentine Ball queen on Saturday at the Missouri Military Academy. The traditional Valentine Ball opens with a reception line and grand march before the queen and her court are selected by the junior class officers. Assisting in the crowning ceremonies will be Cadet Paul Gant, president of the junior class. The total household income cannot exceed $7,500 and the homestead occupied at that time must be owned or rented. Meetings for citizens who meet these requirements will be on Feb.

W. of Vandalia. Large baskets of white gladioli and red carnations, flanked by four potted ferns provided a setting for the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Don Workes and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hesse Hammett, all of Farber. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of ivory lace and organza. It was designed with an empire waist, a square neckline and bell sleeves.

She wore a gold chain with an ivory rosebud and carried a white and red carnation bouquet. The bride's attendant, Miss Jean Britton of Kirksville, wore a floor length gown of red velvet with long sleeves. She carried a single long- stemmed red carnation. Marvin Dillion of Farber was best man and Steve Pharis of Vandalia and Leon Shaw of Farber seated the guests. The altar tapers were lit prior to the ceremony by Miss Debra Workes, sister of the bride, and Miss Gay Hays of Mexico, a cousin of the bride.

They wore floor-length gowns of pink velvet designed with long sleeves. Organist, Mrs. Bob Hoehn, Vandalia, played nuptial selections as guest assembled and used traditional music for the processional and recessional. The bride's mother wore a two-piece navy blue, double- knit suit with black accessories and the mother of the bridegroom wore a double knit dress with jacket of light and dark beige and dark accessories. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Farber Community Building.

The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake decorated with sugar wedding bells and red roses. An arrangement of pink and white mums adorned the table. Mrs. Leon Shaw of Farber served the cake and Miss Rhonda Gish of Vandalia presided at the punch bowl. Guests were registered by Mrs.

Marvin Dillion of Farber and Miss Karen Christian of St. Louis and Miss Debbie Leadley of Farber were in charge of the gift table. The newlyweds are 1974 Van-Far High School graduates. Mr. Hammett is a farmer and she formerly attended Gem City College, Quincy, 111.
