The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Messer of Hope and the groom is tiie son of Mrs. Charles Oscar Thomas 111, and the late Mr also of Hope. Lighted lapers and Southern Smilax provided the background for the double ring ceremony, which was performed by the Rev.

Carlton Roberts. Mrs. Wade Warren, pianist, played a program of nupital music including "Always" and "Whither Thou Goest." The traditional wedding marches wore used. The candles were lighted by Mrs. Glen Caihoun and Miss Carla Purtle, cousins of the bride.

They wore identical Apricot Peau de soie dresses with matching accessories and their flowers were Talisman carnation wristlets. Mrs. Raymond Clark, shier of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Winston Duke and Miss Janet! Roberts.

Their dresses were also of Apricot Peau de soie with matching accessories. They carried small while baskets of Talisman roses and Eucalyptus i'oilage. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Peau de soie and Chantilly lace, fashioned with a scoop neckline, fitted bodice with long sleeves ending in lily points over the hands, and fastened with tiny covered buttons in the back. The full-length bell-shaped skirt was fashioned with a semi- train. Her fingertip veil of il- Jusion fell from a bell-boy cap of Peau de soie encrusted with seed pearls.

She carried a bouquet of Butterfly rose buds and Galaxe goiiage. Charles Oscar Thomas IV, of San Diego, California served his brother as best man. The I groomsmen were Gerald Whit- 1 ley and Henry Sommerville, Jr. They also served as ushers. For her daughters wedding, Mrs.

Messer chose pink lace with white accessories. Her corsage was a purple-throated Cymbidium orchid. The mother of the groom was attired in green shantung, with matching accessories and her corsage was a gold Cymbidium orchid. Mrs. Warren Pickard, grandmother of the bride was dressed in a blue printed silk with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Clark in Southland Heights. The guests were met at the door by Mrs. Billy Wayne Mitchell who introduced them to the receiving line.

Miss Barbara Lee Piercy, cousin of the bride, presided at the guest register. The serving table was beautiful with a floor length white taffeta and net ciolli centered with an arrangement of Talisman roses and Eucalyptus i'oil- age, flanked by Apricot tapers in crystal holders. The wedding cake was served by Mrs. Travis Ward and Mrs. F.

J. Bruce presided at the punch bowl. Nuts and mints were served by -Mrs. Aries Honea and Mrs. T.J.Bar- ber.

For travel, the bride wore a printed silk suit with beige coat and mulching accessories and pinned a corsage of Butterfly rose buds a her shoulder. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas will make their home in Seattle, Washington, where Mr. Thomas is stationed with (he United Stales Army.
